Well.. the first night that kyra and I slept together ... kyra in a state of overwhelming um sensation was grabbing and pounding on the bed screaming out "oh my god, oh my god over and over and over again.... so it just seemed appropriate that she address me as "my Lord".

as far as alandra.. well she worships me...  so it also seemed appropriate  that she address me as "my Lord". 

who am I to argue the facts ....

i too think it is redicalous... my former Master was either called Master or Poppy...,  The terms Lord, God, are the terms i use for my beliefs in the church, not for a simple man...  If a man can walk on water, then i might think about it....

Seems to me you are equating BDSM with D/s.  But as has been discussed here many times, if you view them as two separate entities...D/s as being dominance and submission and BDSM as being BondageDisciplineSadismMasochism...then you can begin to relate to one as the "relationship" and one as a "twisted" version of expressing that relationship and note the difference.

All reality that involves dealing with other humans on anything other than a basic level is going to involve something other than just reacting to each other in the most basic way.  When I order my lunch from the counter person at MacDonalds, I am not going to be interacting in anything but the most basic way..."I would like something to eat, please"  "Yes Sir, will that be all?...."
When you begin having relationships with other people, the nuances of acquaintanceship, friendship, best friends, lovers, long-term partners, etc. begin to come in depending on your relationship with that person.  This includes courtesy, terms of address, etc.  I am not going to call my pastor "my dear friend"...he is my pastor and as such, is addressed always as "Reverend".  Because I do know him in a closer manner than the other pastor in the church, he is addressed as "Reverend Phil" rather than "Reverend Tarman".  A subtle thing but there it is.
I call my daughters "Daddy's girl" and "Daddy's baby".  Neither is a girl any longer and neither is a baby...but it makes them feel a certain way just as it makes me feel a certain way when they call me "Papi" rather than "provider of 1/2 of my DNA make-up".
In D/s, another reason for using titles or honorifics, which I have not seen mentioned yet, is for subtle and unspoken enforcement of 'place within the relationship' by both the submissive and the dominant.

Seriously, what a Dom/sub, Master/slave call each other is really between them; different strokes for different folks and all that. Many subs do worship their Masters, so in their mind, at least, worship is a powerful part of their experience. I think I would only have a problem if the Master really believed he was a god! A bit too much hubris there.

For some that may be it.  But my partner and I are in a vanilla based relationship, yet I still worship him.

Ahh that would make sense that you would not include this in your dynamic.

Many people who are monotheistic do not get into worship of their human partners either because they feel it conflicts with their beliefs.

I believe we are all God, so my worshipping my partner is just a blessing to me to have found someone I can share that with.

I have always called my mates by their first names or a pet name.  Same goes for what they have called me.  I never got into that master stuff or loving the name whore, mindset.  And I would never call anyone Lord, or my God because for me, that identity is strictly for the creator.
BUT, I suppose people who use those terms can consider it a pet name.

I see no problem in bringing religion in to my bedroom...Seems like the christians and the right have been knocking to get in for quite some time now.

hey, i believe that was the same god that visits our bedroom.

anyways on a more serious note, my owner is my god.  he is who i have to answer to, pray to and worship besides he is the one that feeds , clothes and shelters me.  plus with my god at least i can actually see him which is more than i can say for other gods.

as for me being delusional, i think it is less delusional to worship a god i can see than one i can't see.

Maybe that is the idea behind the god thing.  I have never counted on anyone besides me to provide shelter, food, or clothing.  I exist because my mom and dad did the nasty.  I live because they did an adequate job of caring for me in childhood, and a fair to middlin job of showing me I can survive. 
I thrive because I am happy in what I do and would not be happy letting someone take care of all my needs. 
And I am thankful that along the road of life I have learned I can depend on myself.
I do believe in God, but not in hell.
For me, men are men.
Or "Hunnybear".. Or "Sweetcheeks", Or "you freakin idjit".
I can't see sound either, but I still can hear.
I don't need to see things to believe them.

How about it's a nickname!!
I have several nicknames for my God including God of course! I also call him oh wise one, oh godly one, wondrous one and old baldie (his suggestion).
When i finally get to being with him i don't know how i will address him but for now the nicknames do just fine [:D]

Hmmm, I find it intresting the the term 'Lord' is automaticlly connected with God... How about in the middle ages when the ruler of house (Manse,Castle,Feild etc.) was called  Lord out of respect for his position not for a religious title?  "My Lord the sheep are loose again!"    It was a simular title but a little less auspicious as  my Leige or King.
  Knight in latins sounds prettier *w*  Eques.
Rob prefers just Rob, he's pretty good at coming up with nicknames for everyone else tho *g*     In the end  it's just a name,  it's how it's said or who is saying it that gives the name any meaning.

FYI there are no full or half Klingons, Elvies or Jedi on Gor.  The reason Renaissance Faire were created was to show Mondames what it was really like living in that period of time.  And can anyone tell me when the next Rocky Horror is on? I have not seen it in years.  I already have the Star Trek Convention schedule.

Hmmm, maybe they are on the far side of Gor? I don't think that Tarl ever visited every place there.  Or maybe on one of its 3 moons? Perhaps they are really in charge, using the Priest Kings as puppets. I mean heck, sci/fi is sci/fi, right?
 
You get a better taste of medieval life in the SCA than at renfaires. Rennies aren't as concerned about authenticity as are some of the sticklers in the society for compulsive authenticity. And before you correct me, I do know what SCA really stands for.

Tarl did go to every known place on Gor, there is only one continent.  One of the moons can be ruled out it is the Prison Moon.  The Priest Kings answer to a Lady Bug.  I am a member of Adrian Empire, we fight with real steel swords not form rubber.
