There aren't many prepared foods that don't contain some kind of additive, preservative, coloring, etc., today, or even 25 years ago. One of my unmentionables, at about the age of 3 or so started to act up, down, around -- lol!! There were even some things (like red food coloring) that made him "drunk." As a parent it was a scary place to be, because of things that are added to our foods. Some wanted him placed on meds, but instead i decided to take control over what he (and the rest of us) ate. Literally everything we ate was cooked from scratch. That didn't always fix the problem, and it was something we had to be on guard over -- ie white cheese could be used but not any cheese that was yellow. We ate lots of fresh fruits and veggies, freezing what i could for use in the winter, gorging on what i couldn't when it was in season. i had another one who was extremely allergic to milk and the milk protein. Did you know that non-dairy cool whip contains that protein? i didn't either until we had to deal with the results and i looked a little closer at the label. Now, years later and alone, i have to confess that my own diet stinks. Maybe it was all those years of healthy eatting..lol.. but that's where i am. We're all products of and victims of our environment -- but with a little self-education we can make our corner of the world a little better. Now, where is that McDonald's coupon???? LOL!! Cheers, jimini quote:
ORIGINAL: seeksfemslave I suspect food additives may be dangerous but they are present in almost every supermarket food. What can you do ?
