In regards to transsexuals, "standard" as regards the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care is an old way of looking at things because it treats TS's like they have a mental disorder by requiring therapy the entire time. Some endocrinologists and surgeons don't require therapy anymore, although the majority still do and will for a while, unfortunately. Sorry, just random info because I don't like the word "standard". If a transman or transwoman feels capable of having SRS six months after starting hormones, good for them. If they want therapy and to ease through things slowly, that's good too.
