Lashra -> Do you ever wonder.. (1/24/2007 4:17:40 PM)

Why some people feel that they must come onto the Mistress forum and put up messages that they know are going to stir up trouble? Do you ever wonder why that is?  Are they bored? Do they fear women so much that this is their way of striking back? Or is it because this is the net and a asshole can get away with pretty much anything?

I've noticed one particular group in the kink world that has some members who enjoy to stir up the Mistresses and yet they complain that no one understands them and that they are continually perscuted for their beliefs. Sounds a bit hypcritical doesn't it considering they are guility of the behavior they accuse others of.

You ever wonder Mistresses, or is it just me?

Maybe the dears are just reaching out...

They might simply be followers of the chaos gods such as Loki. For them, they see it as their duty to disrupt. Doesn't make it any more pleasant, though. My suggestion is to simply ignore...or talk to them as normal people. I made a fairly decent aquaintance that way.

Yes, I've wondered.  No, it's not just you.

It's not just you ... I've learned over the years, though, to ignore people like that and their inane postings.

I just figure its immaturity at its best, people that feel better when they get negative attetion since thats about the only attention they know how to get.
The problem is, they are getting the attention they want. They have no reason to stop lokng for trouble when they are getting the response to it they are craving.
If it looks like a troll, and posts like a troll, it probably is a troll.

Lashra, I think DV says it well and boys will be boys ...oops, sorry...I mean, trolls will be trolls..
And yes, it is annoying at times.  I try to see the humor in the posts though, I do get a good laugh out of some of them.

In r/l, I had the chance to talk to a follower of chaos..he is becoming an amusing friend (and a very willing energy "source" [sm=lol.gif]) .
If you feel compelled, talk to them...if not, ignore them.
I think we have to try to remember that they are just trying to get a rise out of us so if we don't want to promote their actions, we probably shouldn't engage in a battle of wits with them...

oh, and btw Master Fire - your advice to me about another issue was right "on the money" and we are coming to an understanding about my needs.  (sorry for the highjack, Lashra)

Sometimes I think they do it to test limits. Its not always for attention they have an opinion to express and this is an open foroum if you dont care for what they post dont read it or respond. For some people this is their life they know nothing else I cant relate but I do understand that the world of make belive is better than the real world for some , and when they feel threatened in some way they strike out at others.

KaramelGoddess -> RE: Do you ever wonder.. (1/24/2007 6:55:54 PM)

Everything we do, by definition of who we are as Female Tops, Dominants, Dominas, Goddesses, Mistresses...etc... is an annoyance and totally bizarre to some people.

One day they will either get it, or get over it.  [sm=mrpuffy.gif]

DommeChains -> RE: Do you ever wonder.. (1/24/2007 7:33:10 PM)

Personally I feel it's because many folks are very brave.....at a distance.  If they had to look us in the eye and say the hateful things they love to spout they wouldn't have the balls to do it.

Ignoring the annoyances is the best approach I suppose.  However, I do wish they would take their issues elsewhere than the Mistress forum.  I would prefer to not have to wade through or past the garbage in search of the good bits.

Yes.   I know that a good number people wouldn't posture and speak in a face to face encounter the way they do here.    M

LadyHugs -> RE: Do you ever wonder.. (1/24/2007 8:54:46 PM)

Dear Lashra, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I am at times tempted to wonder why individuals put the 'poison' or 'toxic' topics into the Mistress Forum and or any other forum.

Those who intend to stir up trouble, do so as a sport.  Those who intend to stir up trouble as a form of control by creating a problem, sitting back as others put a wet blanket over their 'firestorm' of controversy and or negativity.  Those who post under false names and or profiles as to harass and or frustrate Female Masters and or Mistresses and or Dominants.  Only these people know their 'true' intentions when they post.  At times, I think its just wise to not respond to posts that are obvious baits into negative debates.  I've seen such individuals always having to say some snide remarks, the last word on everything or just twist everything as to humiliate women who identify as Dominant.

In my mind's eyes I see--its just a matter of controlling others and not really exchanging quality knowledge, ideas and or philosophies.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

Most of you guys are to savvy to take the bait. Also, what kind of forum can you have without a few troublemakers in it?

MistressSassy66 -> RE: Do you ever wonder.. (1/24/2007 10:47:31 PM)

Its not just You wondering.

A friend gave Me a great answer...some people are just so bored or unhappy that
they have made it a career to be mean and hateful.

I try to always be nice...it doesnt always work though...lol [sm=banana.gif]

Thanks everyone for your insightful replies. I did not think it was just me that had noticed the poison that was being tossed our way. I guess it comes down to this. Humans fear that which they do not understand and therefore some will try to control the object of their fear. When they cannot control what it is that they fear, they try to eradicate it from existence.

I won't be controlled or run off. Im just too stubborn and bitchy for that. [;)]

I take it you are referring to the M/f and Gorean types that wish to further subdivide an already misunderstood subculture by stressing that their views should be universal to BDSM? If you are, then yes, these people annoy me to no end.

There are some doms and femsubs that, for whatever reason, cannot stomach the idea that man would like to submit to a woman. They seem to stress the point that it is “natural” for a man to be dominant over a woman and the opposite is merely depraved kink. They spread fraudulent stereotypes that submissive men are somehow “weaklings that wish to become women” and that Dominant women are merely confused little subbies who will succumb to their wiley charms. What arrogance!

They often use the example of history to somehow “prove” their model of the lifestyle is not only idea; it is “natural.” If they studied their history a little closer they would discover that there have been examples of matriarchal societies in the past and that they were by no means “weak.” In fact, the Iroquis were a matriarchal driven society and were among some of the fiercest tribes of indians in the eastern United States. There are other examples of matriarchal societies in the past which some of these people may not be aware.

I would also like to point out that the patriarchal structure of society was deeply rooted in the west for 1900 years because the major religious influences. Judaism and Islam in particular often scapegoat women as the reason for the downfall of humanity from God’s grace and implement a social order to enforce this belief. Christianity has begun to ease these restrictions on women and interestingly enough, western society has made leaps and bounds in progress. I am not advocating “female supremacy” but I am also not opposed to strong feminine influences. I believe they are beneficial and have spurred social and technological revolutions in the past. Why do you think the Greek and Roman pantheon included Goddesses?  Women play a very important role, and to some men, a role which they deeply appreciate and desire to guide them.

Anyway, time for me to get off my soapbox. I do agree with you Lashra and I wish the trolls would find something more contructive to do.

littlesarbonn -> RE: Do you ever wonder.. (1/25/2007 2:49:23 PM)

Personally, it would be so much easier to ignore them, but none of the regulars do, making the threads just continue to increase positive reinforcement for those that create them.

I take a great deal of time and thought when I begin a thread, because I personally like to develop thoughts that might cause people to be able to expand upon ideas with new thoughts and passions. And then I'll be dwarfed by yet another "Why do women charge money" or "why aren't slaves real" thread, so I wander off and fingerpaint instead.
