Taken by old fashioned doms and busy baking apple pies of course.

I am owned by an old fashioned Master and everybody loves my apple pies though yesterday i baked a mince pie instead. Does baking the wrong pie disqualify me?

You want a sub to churn butter?  cook on a wood stove?  get water from the well?

I can and have made butter, i learned to cook on a woodstove and draw water from a well, i learned from my granny. Currently we do have city water, guess that disqualifys me also.

I still weave baskets as well as wreaths,an have an extensive herb garden both for cooking and medicinal purposes. Hmm...maybe i am still in the running.

What about plucking the feathers off fresh chickens, or scrapping the scales off the catfish.

I raised guinea hens, i have plucked chickens and geese to make feather pillows and mattresses. I can catch and clean the catfish plus stir up a mean batch of hush puppies to go with it. Damn things are looking up for me. Now however we have a waterbed.

If you were truly an old sub you would know how to fix my chain mail armor and fix my viking ship.

To repair chainmail (i own my ownsuit of chainmail complete with greaves, leggings, gauntlets  and a coif. I fight modified broadsword at REN fairs.) you only need spare links and a welder.

As to the ship, small patches or bending wood for larger patches yes, big repairs you will have to call a ship wright. My dad taught me, we had several boats he worked on himself.

Lol, i really ought to be climbing the ladder with that one.

I am sitting in a 1800's Victorian, the fence is not done yet but the gardens are coming along nicely. Scooter is not a millionaire but neither his Lady wife or i work.

quote:

Thats our kind of girl not to mention shoveling horse shit and slopping the hawgs

Never shoveled horse shit, when i had horses that was the boys job but raised,  slopped, and butchered many a hog.

A side note; I ride a Hawg, i eat  hogs.

Vandeval, you were NOT supposed to rat us out, now we will all get severely punished, Thank You very much!

Whatever happened to good old fashioned female subs?

They went out of style? Maybe they will be in fashion again if you hold on to the one you have for a couple of decades, be sure to store her in a cedar chest with lots of moth balls.

Hey: I spend almost the whole 4 weeks before Christmas making about 50 pounds of chocolate-pecan fudge, and Christmas cookies, to give away to friends and neighbors. I also volunteer at a children's shelter, and work with Sudanese refugees. I attend church. I am so old-fashioned, I am a "stay-at-home mom" - for my two dogs.
How "old-fashioned" is that?

P.S. - I don't know how to sew, though. I can barely hem a pair of pants. Am I disqualfied?

I'm old, but my fashion sense seems to evade me at times due to the fact I HATE, repeat HATE to shop. On top of that the modern day fashions seem to be low quality stuff with a name brand on it that costs way more than something well made.
I'm just not into the whole fashion frenzy at all.
Guess I'm disqualified too.

BRNaughtyAngel: I'm sorry, I didn't know you were on a diet (and looking at you pic, why do you need one?). I am old-fashioned about not tempting dieters, too. Make that "dietetic chocolate-pecan fudge (with calories removed)", he.

Awwwww thanks Susan.  I am low carbing again because it helps keep my blood sugar stable (hypoglycemic), helps keep my cravings under control, makes me feel good with lots of energy and I wanna get rid of some of the junk in my trunk - if ya know what I mean?

Sew? Nobody mentioned sewing. Can you repair chainmail? I can teach you if you like but first i'd have to teach you how to weld.

ps; i can also sew.

Geeeesh Twice, how’s a girl supposed to stand a chance with you around?

Now, let’s see if I can at least come close.

My babysitter as a kid had farm animals. I was once chased around a tree by their pissed off bull and they fed me chicken balls without telling me what they were until I was finished. (gross)

I’ve gone hornpout fishing, which I think is a small version of catfish, but I have to step on them to get the hook out and I’ve never actually cleaned one. I don’t even really like fish.

I have made about a sticks worth of butter before, with the help of some classmates, but I am confident I could do it alone.

Unfortunately, the only ship I know anything about is “The Good Ship Lollypop”, but damned if I can remember the words right now.

Oh Hell, stick a fork in me…..I’m done!!!!

Be well,

BRNaughtyAngel: I do understand. Good luck!

Drawntothe dark: Thanks for the compliment. Everyone I make fudge for thinks it is this big complicated deal to make - it actually takes about 15 minutes, to make a three pound batch.

twicehappy: Chainmail ?- I can learn to repair that, I think - but -  I know nothing at all about that. Twicehappy, you are indeed a woman-for-all seasons.

When we were kids a couple of our families got together....threw up a couple wooden doors on sawhorses and butchered chickens all night.....kids did the plucking---jaySUS!!!! after a couple hundred chickens, your hands were like bloody claws----

The treat then, was to hand crank some really filthy rich heavy whipping cream homemade ice cream, so your rotator cuffs were sore as hell too.  But what great ice cream.

So, even if I had 15 cents cost into each chicken, I would pay the butcher 20 bucks apiece to pluck and clean and package the fuckin' things...

The good old days weren't always good and tomorrows not as bright as it seems----
