ALL NEWBIES Beware OF new "chat" rooms - 1/25/2007 4:18:24 PM

I've noticed new chat rooms sprouting up. Most dealing with "newbies" or "beginners". Some may be legit but I have a hunch that most are traps set by wannabes, opportunists, HNG's and weekend warriors. Weaving their evil lil webs hoping to catch that oblivious lil prey to devour. Please be wary when entering these rooms. Most have established rules that keep trolls at bay. But what if the mods are trolls themselves??

What on earth would someone ever fear from a screen name in a chatroom?

The truth of the matter is that unless you are an attached person in a happy relationship you are probably a troll.
Now, whether you are a good troll or a bad troll is another issue... and a new person in the lifestyle hopefully still has the intelligence and street smarts to realize that there is an "X" at the top of the window to close the window is they feel they are being pressured or are uncomfortable in anyway.

A bad troll is someone that trolls without regards to the emotions of the other person.. but for their own pleasure alone. They may or may not be attached, or if they are attached they may have no real desire or inclination to be out of the relationship they are in and are keeping it a secret... They lie, they deceive, and they do it for self gain, and if someone gets hurt they blame that person for being a fool.

A good troll is just a normal person seeking a relationship. Again they may even be attached to someone else by law or other circumstances, but they do not hide it, they are honest and upfront about everything to everyone that they can be.

A newbie is going to see this just as anyone else is... it may be harder for them to see it... but they have to learn just like everyone else does... and trying to protect them you are just as likely to drive them into the arms of someone that is bad as you are to protect them. They need advice yes, but they also need the freedom to learn.

Fear not the nick, but fear the intent behind it. I guess you don't hear the stories I've heard. Some ppl are so gullible. Why should they have to learn the hard way and maybe get injured or worse if someone can warn them in advance?

Those that are gullible enough to be warned are uualy the ones who dont hed the warnings anyway. How many of those impressionable newbies do you really think read the forums to get information rather than running into the chat rooms to look for some excitement.
People getting into the lifestyle need to know how to keep themselves safe.  New and old, there are basic concepts that have to be followed and the newcomers face as many ill-intentioned prowlers in a standard everyday chat as tey do in one geared to entice a newbie. Anyone who comes in announcing they are clueless and wanting to learn are asking for teh barrage of invites from every troll out there.

Your intentions are good, however I dont kow that your message will help since the audience it reaches here is not the one that would benefit from it.

Unless they are underage, they aren't newbies in the sense you mean. They've met people at parties, been introduced by friends, chatted to the person in the next seat at a sports show and even danced with 'gasp' strangers in a club. Because you are new to one specific group of activities does not mean you've suddenly become stupid and lost every tool you had ever learned to judge whether someone was compatible with you or not.

If that were so, then anyone taking up tennis would be at risk for being terrorized by the more advanced tennis players.

I love walking into a chatroom and talking about carving my hand up with a rust knife

ALL chatrooms are fucked up places of idiocy.  The only thing worse than mentors and training collars.

Well....if you ask the HNG (horny net geek)  am sure he will say he is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.  I think I would take the barrel of monkeys.     Gosh I can't spell today....

Hey sasshay,

I know your heart is in the right place.  I applaud you for sticking your neck out there.  I know many submissives and Doms that have gotten a lot from what you post to your profile and journal, have heard it from them personally.  The forums sometimes do not have a lot of compassionate people that post.   I tell people, that tell me they are going to post here, to expect some snide remarks and to develop a thick skin.  Sadly, many people just spout off on how everyone on earth should know better about things.  That is not often the case though.  Age and experience are all relative, and new people do make mistakes.  I know it is impossible to hand hold people, and help every one of them to avoid some pretty awful experiences.  But we can try.  The facts are that there are some bad people out there that use this to BS new people.  And some of them are experts at it, some can even fool experienced people too.  There is no way to police those people, nor to escape them, especially when using the internet.  But they are also out there in real life too.  The best way is to try to reach out to others in some way.  And to also be there to help or mentor them if they are willing to listen and learn.  Please keep posting to your journal.  When I run into new people I try to direct them to websites that will help them, or profiles, and people I know that will try.  I also tell them about my first foray into this too.  So if any effort made helps even one or a handful of people to slow down, don't rush, think things over and so on.  It is working.

I ran a chatroom for several years and haunted another one for several years previous, plus a couple of BDSM chats after that, and I can honestly say that chatrooms are for lamers and people with no life.  Period.  I do not care who runs them or who the mods are.  Get a life already.  Looking back, I should never have spent the time I did on those people.  Gah.

Internet socializing has really degraded to the point where it is full of people that have next to no social life.  Internet dating is a complete joke and saved for the rejects that can not find a date anywhere else.

Anybody that complains about HNGs, etc, should know that they all fall under the same label.  That is why most are here.  They want action.  I just find it funny that they fling labels at others that equally fit themselves.  This is why I do not search on the internet, and if someone responds to my profile I am very wary, as almost every single one so far has turned out to be a loser in the end.  Be careful not to throw stones in a glass house.

By the way, by the very definition of an internet "troll", there is no such thing as a "good" troll.  Someone needs to learn their definitions.

I never knew it was all so complicated, so what if people want my bank details to prove my age that’s ok I think. Always remember to put Vaseline on your webcam also.

I just go in say hello how’s the weather blabla. Then when my eyes are fucked and I canny take no more I leave

OK, have Master put some cheese bits or peanut butter on some nipple clamps and strew them about the house, you will have boobies ensnared in them in no time.

Because sometimes that is the only way they learn..... sad, but true..

You are not off base in wanting to warn and protect others. But i have to agree with the others that this is not the right forum to do it.  The ones needing warning most likely will not be in here.

If you are on a chat room and see someone new, offer to talk, one on one, for a few minutes.. but that is assuming YOU know the score and are on the up and up,. see that is the trouble with online, you don't know..

good advice is to tell them to go slow, talk tothe forums and get into real life groups and munches..

Do advise them but don't get dishearted if only a few heed your warnings and suggestions.

Hang in there..
