I hope to be able to have this within a few years when I accumulate more capital. I want an older house with a basement, and convert the basement into a very luxurious Victorian atmosphered room but with all sorts of cuffs and chains attached to the walls, a sumptious assortment of whips and floggers, padder benches platforms Etc.A lovely crystal chandelier, black walls, thick red oriental carpets, and an opiim bed. I think if i had a house with a basement and was patient in accumulating things this is in fact do-able

Why always the basement?  Why not the attic? Or the living room? Or the tree in the back yard?

My "fantasy dungeon"  would look like a kitchen, or a workshop, or an office, or a dining room, or a garden, or a construction site, or a church, or a parking lot, or a rooftop, or a beach, or a barn, or a forest, or a warehouse, or a sailboat, or a bank vault, or a classroom, or a gas station, or maybe even a bedroom.

My fantasy is to express myself imaginatively, in the world as I find it, in the moment that happens to be wafting by. And I keep pretty busy realizing my fantasy.

The very last thing it would look like would be a "dungeon".

A well stocked bar, I suppose it would be dark and dank for the ambiance, if I could round up a few political prisoners and one or two that had been clapped in chains due to a royal edict, that would be sweet...all this is negotiable of course, excepting the bar.

There is something creepy and eerie about being in a filthy old room.  The devices and furniture made out of old railroad ties, and crappy busted up pieces of furniture that was garbage picked.  There would be spider webs and a dirty cold cement floor, rusty chains, broken windows and the feeling of my skin crawling, not wanting to touch any part of it, sit down anywhere or lay my body any place, but having to do it anyway.

I'm make a few things that I've considered in the past. I'm not sure if the site's rules would allow me to say what they are.If anyone's that curious, just email me.

Attics are always entirely too hot, or entirely too cold.  I can picture suffocating up there already.  (Although, other than that, I do like the idea of it.)

So too hot and too cold are bad things? Are you topping Goldilocks or something?

I can picture some suffocating going on up there too, and by golly it works for me.

Exactly like his dungeon looks like now.  It might be nice to make it bigger so he could make a school room section but I love my Lord's dungeon.  It is one of my favorite places in the house.

Ha, I bet Noah's dungeon is in his attic.

I think I prefer someone having some control over those things.

My idea of the perfect dungeon would be a part of the house that maybe had one of those revolving bookcases that revealed the room beyond.

Personally, I would find it extrememly sexy to have an uber clean space, carpeted, hooks and chains in the ceiling, built in rings on the floor in places, a solid and clean bed with a very very firm mattress and plenty of tie-down points on the foot and head-boards. Other than that I think the space should have some other dungeon furniture, some good chairs and a look from a pottery barn catalog.

Gotta keep it clean!

i like your idea! The only thing i would add would be alot of canopies and hanging sheers to divide areas of the room, that would reflect dim lighting, add distortion of views.Something like i saw in a vampire movie  that starred David Bowie - the "Hunger" i think it was long white curtains blowing in the breeze and people ravishing each other ... like a vampire orgy :-)
