I grew up in metro Detroit where WE ARE OUR VEHICLES & WOE TO THOSE THAT GET IN OUR WAY! I've calmed down on the freeways only because of the potholes..
BabyBlue is my 2002 Mountaineer, nice n big hehe. It was a gift so I can't complain about the horrific gas mileage. (My last car was a Geo which helps make up for it).
I love love to drive, I can't do nearly as much as I used to. An hour is my limit & I cannot must not drive at night. I sure do love the freedom & the speed of being behind the wheel...
LOL I am a former drag racer (ugly as sin, 74 Nova mmmmm fastfast), & have taken 2 professional defensive driving courses.
The only link I see to being subbie, is that I always let ppl cut in front of me & I always let folks merge. I think that is more good manners & being aware of others than being a subbie..but who knows.

LOL I don't think there is a link at all. I really am not i likable driver. I had a friend once tell me to drive like a stole the car, so i don't get run over. I loe stratagizing which way is fastest, where the traffic build up is, and how to get around it. ;) ok so that might be how i approach being a bratty sub at times.

The only driving i do is people up the wall

Seriously i tried to learn to drive but found that i could no longer tell left from right once behind the wheel of a car so gave up rather quickly

I drive a Monte Carlo. I am a fairly curteous, but an admittedly agressive driver. There are a few speeding tickets sitting back there somewhere. I tend to drive like a bat out of hell, but the agression part almost cant be helped. When you learn to drive dodging tourons, and retirees on I-4...Well, it tends to make you really watchful for those that are attempting left hand turns from the right lane. God bless Mickey.

I'd say my driving is somewhat reflective of my personality:
*If I could, I would rather let someone else drive. I much prefer to be a passenger. (I'm a slave....figures)
*The driving I do like involves scenic routes where you can roll down the windows and let the wind blow through your hair, and listen to music as loud as possible...OR...quiet drives through a balmy summer night. ( so I like it hot and wild, or steamy and slow!)
*I'm generous about letting other drivers cut in, and I'd much rather yield than push my way into the lane. (I'd rather give in)
*I get lost A LOT when driving someplace new, but give me enough time, and I can find my way around anywhere..finding shortcuts, or interesting side roads that few people know about. ( It takes me some time to get comfortable with new things, but when I do, I'm enthusiastic!)
*I don't enjoy the interstates at all...they make me sleepy, or anxious depending on the traffic. (Some sense of consistency is nice, but it can lead to boredom or an intense desire for change- I like the way the D/s is always leading me off in an unexpected direction)
*I like to take a road now and then..just to see where it goes. (slightly adventurous)
*I enjoy driving more with I have someone to talk with ( EVERYTHING is better with someone you love to talk and listen to)

Your driving is not bad considering you have had Lasik surgery and have problems in the dark. Right after we met a couple of years ago, one night you tried to drive me to your parents’ lake house and did very well down the small roads. You drove competently, pulled up in front of it and smiled. Then you realized you were at the wrong house, by about a quarter of a mile. It gave me a reason to whip you nonetheless. What the heck.

My "driving" style is perfectly suited to my D/s personality: I take the Metro, because if I had the financial resources I would have a personal driver! I hate driving and prefer that someone do that chore for me.

When I do drive (Flexcar/Zipcar), I am careful and task-oriented. I do tend to blast the XM radio, however, and sometimes I sing along.

I'm sure my driving has nothing to do with submissive.  I love driving but I drive defensively with a 100 pound foot.  Speed Limits and traffic suck but somehow I have a excelent driving record.  Who'd a guessed?

I am a careful, thoughtful and considerate driver.  I try not to cut people off, I let others merge in front of me and I'll stop to let someone cut through. I generally don't speed and in general drive like an ole grannie (which I am ;)  But ;)  cut me off and laugh or flip me the bird???? I'll chase you down, jump out of the vehicle, pull you out of your car and beat the living hell out of you,,,,I know, I'v seen me do it. :D   Does this relflect on my being Domme?  I don't know, I'v been told I'm not a 'normal' Domme (although what that means is beyond me)

Today I drove the big girl truck! (Dodge Ram 4x4 extended cab) I just love driving it, wish I could afford to drive it every day but she's a thirsty bitch. The little black putt putt economy car is in the shop getting ready to roll over 200thousand on the odometer at only 4 years old.

It's funny the difference in driving the two of them. I drive just a wee bit fast.....and in the car I have to deal with left lane huggers getting in my way on the freeway. When I drive the truck it's amazing how quickly they move back into the right lane when they see that truck grill in their rear view mirror.

When you drive a Cadillac Deville you own the road.  It is rather humorous.  Nobody likes to have one of those crawl up their ass it seems.  Even if they are in the fast lane and they saw me approaching they quickly switched lanes to get out of the way.  Yes, I do drive quite fast.  Fortunately I have a good paralegal that gets all my tickets dropped.

Well, the last vehicle I drove was a 2006 Frieghtliner Century. Talk about intimidating when it comes up in your mirror. I certainly didn't back off from the right-of-way with a 53 ft trailer behind me. Funny thing is, I'm submissive as the day is long.

I am a godawful driver.  Public transportation isn't really an option around here.  A girl has to do what a girl has to do.

I noticed that alot of the current posts were on rather serious topics so i have decided to start one on a lighter note :).
I have put it in general discussion, because it isnt just for one category or another to answer.

So, what is your style of driving and do you think it reflects in your personality, (since this is a BDSM based forum lets say slightly specifically to BDSM personality).

My answer:
I drive a 1987 Toyota Corolla (its the same age as me!) named Seamus (after Seamus Heaney). I wouldnt say i am an agressive driver, but even though i havent been driving for very long (just over a year) i absolutely love it!
I have a tendency to accelerate quickly (this doesnt happen if there are cars infront of me) and i never risk my safety or safety of my passengers, but sometimes i just like to go fast. I never go over the speed limit (unfortunately.. i think i would see the police as too kinky if they ever pulled me over and that may cause problems).
I think my driving does reflect my personality... confident, stubborn.. and i dont think my submissive nature can be separated from that.

So now, onto everyone else!!

I drive faster than I should, but am courteous,  and let other people go. I stop for pedestrians.  I use all precautions and I drive defensively.  In other words, even when I have the green light, I still look both ways. I keep my eyes out for 2  or 3 cars ahead of me. I watch the guy coming at me in the other lane, because he could be drunk; stuff like that.  I don't trust other motorists on the road, so I watch what I'm doing and what they're doing.  Yes, I think this sort of reflects my personality.  But then I live in Jersey.  It's a fucking madhouse.

I don't think my driving has to do with my submissiveness.  In college I gained the nickname Mario Andretti.  My gas pedal and I are in a torrid love affair.  And I do change lanes and duck through traffic.

I do a lot of driving as part of My job, about 500 miles a week, and I do see some of the Domme come out in traffic. I also just movied from Hickerbilly Mi (not an actual town) to north of Chicago, My driving style has changed drastically. I am much more agressive, its turn on the blinker, count to 3, then pull over. Of course My daddy was a truckdriver and tought Me how to rule the road no matter what I drive. (and I do admit My poor car shows it with run ins with mailboxes and other non moving objects) But I do scare most of who ride with Me so I believe it is a reflection of the deep dark woamn within.....

Honestly, I'm a horrible driver. Got MY learner's permit at 17 after reaklly screwing up on Driver's Ed and Driver's training... I passed the stupid test after three tries.  Then I ran over the gate post to MY parents house ect ect ect.
I've had a number of fender benders and near nisses so when I wrecked the car MY parents gave ME I said to Hell with tHIS noise! and got my    boy-toys   to drive ME everywhere.

It might be inconvenient, but it's Hella SAFER! LOLOLOL!

I think it's a matter of temper and just not understanding machinery. I don't look where I'm going and stuff. After getting a suspended licence  (the wreck) I just said I don't NEEEEEED this aggravation!

Anyway, when does QUEEN ELIZABETH drive HER car? Try NEVER! LOLOLOL!
