I got the news from  a vision specialist lately, during a routine eye exam.........and I'm going to see about getting my first pair of glasses tomorrow.

I've known that my sight was starting to falter a little bit - but this is something I've got to do - reluctantly, of course.  My vanity would normally cause me to opt for contacts, but I have a SERIOUS phobia of things going into my eye (I gave my eye doc hell with those Goddam dilation drops.)  I'm near-sighted, so shit that's way out there kind turns into blur-city, ruling out long distance face-recognition, and other important life skills.  I want to pick something that looks good - but I almost feel as if I might start looking kind of dorky with glasses.  Who else out there is a member of the "Four-Eyes" club?

Glasses on men are sexy, in my opinion.  There are a number of styles you can choose from so you can reflect your own style.

Be well,
Julie

I prefer glasses- in a way- it serves as a shield to flying objects.

I trust it more then contact lenses or that surgery they do.

try a lense that turns into sunglasses- sunglasses can be cool. or get a few diff pair.

there is a new treatment- i recommend. it deflects the radiation coming out of a computer monitor=- ask for that if you spend alot of time on a computer.

another hint:

get an exam from a chain place that runs a sale. i got one for $9.99. then ask for the rx ,

then find an online eye glass seller.  I got $400 glassses for @ $100 this way. it is all made off shore anyhow.....

I love my glasses. I dont even buy contacts any more because the ones they make for astigmatism are weighted so they roll around on your eyeball and if they arent in just so, you can't see worth a darn anyway.
Plus, I think my glasses are sexy.

Glasses are nothing.  Wait till you start losing your hair and your pubes turn white.

I have glasses. *Points at pic* Then again, I'm a confirmed nerd, so glasses don't really ruin my image. I would wear contacts too but unfortunately I got a corneal burn from a cleaning solution years ago and I have been freaked out about things in my eyes ever since.

Men in glasses can be VERY sexy, as long as you get a good style that suits both your face structure and your coloring. And of course, watching him take them off, slowly, revealing gorgeous eyes... well that can be an aphrodisiac in and of itself.

Most straight guys wouldn't know style even if it smacked them up aside the head. If this includes you, do yourself a favor and take someone along with you who knows style.

Don't mess up this deal. When I bought my first pair, I didn't give it much thought or effort. I later realized that the wrong glass frames can make good-looking guys look like dorks or geeks. But I didn't learn this entirely on my own.

One night I was getting buzzed with a good friend at a local watering hole. I lamented to him that the ladies just didn't seem to be "checking me out" lately, like they used to.

This guy is a champion ball-buster. And in his classic snarky tone, he said, "Well why don't you try losing those dorky glasses of your's."

I asked him if he was serious. So then he asked me what flea-market I bought them at, or did I get them at that 2-pairs for $59 place... just to drive home his point in that smart-assed way of his.

So I went out and replaced them. The ladies start checking me out again like they used to. Problem solved.

I know they have computer programs now that you can check out a bunch of new hairstyles on yourself for the purpose of selecting one thats becoming to you. Maybe there's a similar program now for glasses too.

But if such program doesn't exist yet, there's a million dollar idea just waiting for us 4-eyes to develop! I'll split it 50/50 with you...

I had glasses. Then, I had Lasik since my eyes were so bad that I was doomed to coke bottles

Angel has glasses and contacts.  He looks so cute in his glasses, that adorable kinda nerdy look.

They can work well on some faces, and not so well on others.

You think that's bad? Just wait until they start calling you "Old Wrinkle-Dick!"

Heck.

That is nothing.  Wait until you have to wear a hearing aide.  That will make you freak out.
Nothing wrong with glasses, aides, or any other type thing that will help you in life.

I think glasses on women make them hot.

I wear glasses for everything.   I sleep in them, shower in them, swim with them.....everything.   Problem is I am so hard on them that I started getting safety glasses.   I go through 2 - 3 sets of frames a year.   LOL   Best part is that the safety glasses come in a style I like and are cheaper than normal ones    hehehehehe

i've worn glasses since the third grade  Wear contacts whenever i can, but usually need a couple days off from them a week.
i'd probably save up for Lasik if they were civilized enough to put you under for it... cutting my eyes with a laser while i'm wide awake? Fuck you, Dr. Mengele!

I am.

Im far-sighted though, so I don't need to wear them all the time.  I wear them while on the comp or when reading.

There are so many options of frames today.  They even make invisible frames.  You can definately find ones that will not take away from your looks.  You may even find that you like the look.  Really.

Good luck with your new adventure.
I wear contacts, glasses rarely.  For me, glasses are a huge pain, they never fit properly (I'm sort of obsessive about it), they are never clean enough, they fog up in the winter - imagine someone constantly cleaning & adjusting their glasses, that's me.  Contacts have their downfalls as well.  I am fitted for mono-vision and it's not perfect vision correction.  No easy fix.

I wear glasses . They are almost an accesory for me. I have quite a few pairs and change them around to suit my mood or attire. Subfever gives good advice. Take some one along or seek advice from the sales person, they generally know which colors and shapes will be most flattering for you.
I am as attracted to men who wear glasses as those who don't.

Oh great, I wear both glasses AND a hearing aid...

P.S.  I agree that glasses "can" make a person look hotter (if that's possible), hehe...)
