I'm probably too much of the "Good Witch". Although, piss me off and I believe the old saying is "Hell hath no furry like a woman scorned".

“If his love is to be called perverse, then let it be so, for maybe love is too great to be normal, too intense to be sane.”

- from a review of the Japanese film, “Sasayaki,” by screen name myownpteidaho, here: http://imdb.com/title/tt0208178.

Wow. That is a GREAT quote. Thank you for sharing it.

Lorelei, yes!  It really holds so much meaning, that observation, put so simply.

It flies in the face of our tendency to make love "behave" or comform, as if we can tame it.  In that sense, I think it has something to do with the spirit of this discussion, here, about being a "good" or "bad" dominant.

We're inundated with messages about how we "should" love, how to be cautious, in love, a concern about normalcy - 'am I normal?'

The last time my heart was torn up, on top of the pain I was feeling 'I shouldn't...' - shouldn't have loved that person, anyway, should have known it was a bad idea, shouldn't have felt so much, so fast,...
and I realized that somewhere along the way, I'd picked up this critical voice in my head, about my feelings - as if critical thinking and love had anything to do with each other.  Why was I holding my love to these irrelevant standards?

And yet, it's radical to suggest that we not do that.

To me, this person's comments suggest something radical and true - to let all that "should" go.  To be strong enough to commit to the truth of my passion, - "Let it be so,...." because anything less is a betrayal of myself.

I tried to respond to the author, alias myownpteidaho, but you have to register with IMDB (International Movie Database), and their privacy policy sucks.

I really recommend the movie, itself, too, as well as the director's commentary, on the DVD.

"You are the only one who knows who I am."

From Sasayaki (aka Gekko no Sasayaki), the main male character, to his girlfriend, who, after having discovered his submissive and masochistic nature, lashes out at him in anger and revulsion, treating him with cruelty and inadvertently fulfilling his deepest desires.

I never raise my voice in a scene or in day to day interactions.. yet I have been told by several that they have never received such a verbal lashing. I think all Dommes are good Dommes with the exception of those that do harm physically or emotionally. After all we are providing a service while meeting our own needs. That's my view anyway. Both my subs cringe at the thought of angering me, yet are able to hold their heads high knowing I will not lash out in anger.
