with permission from her Master-of-the-time, this girl regestered. she is no longer owned by Him and has since changed that on the registry. her number is the same and when she finds another Master, she will be listed as belonging to Him.
she is proud to be regestered and sees it as belonging to a community of like minded P/people.
she also knows that no matter what she likes and does in her life, there will be S/some that think she is silly, or just plain stupid for liking and doing it.
so, she does what makes her happy, hence listing her number as her signature.

I understand it in that "I don't understand it but if you makes you happy" kinda way. *smiles* I just have a serious issue with those kind of tattoos but I know that a lot people don't have those issues. In fact most people (from what I can tell) don't understand my issue. So I guess we're even!

Symbols can be powerful. We are constantly drawn to symbols and rituals as a way of defining ourselves, of marking significant transitions, of honoring our relationships. Whatever symbols and rituals work for others is great...they help to make something that is important and personal, yet abstract, more concrete in our lives. Wedding bands, collars, slave numbers. They are all the same. Some folks don't get the whole marriage thing, vanillas would think the collar thing is ridiculous...some on here scoff at slave registry. It's all a matter of personal preference and perspective and what helps each person find definition.
