ORIGINAL: elcorazonsuhogar I would like to pose a situation that occurred to a friend of mine this past week and ask for responses on how you would have handled it. You have a profile and a picture on this site. You are out shopping in a city mall with your older teenage daughter who is standing right beside you. You are approached in a store by man who asks if you have the screen name such and such. You have used this name for many years in all manner of places on the net. Vanilla and lifestyle. You acknowledge yes. He immediately says he is such and such from Bondage and asks if you are still with the same Master. I am curious how you would have reacted and what advice you would give this "man" should he read this thread? Personally, like others have mentioned, I think it is unwise to use the screen same name all over the net. I have a different screen names for my other non-bdsm accounts--one for my friends and family, one for career, one for my part-time business. The one I have on Collarme and other BDSM sites is used strictly for the lifestyle. Nonetheless, I think what this man did was absolutely inexcusable. He should have had enough common sense to know that approaching someone like that was WAY out of line, particularly with a family member right there. If this had happened to me, I would have shot him a puzzled look and said, "You must be mistaken--I don't have a clue what you are talking about" and walked off. When I got home, I would have looked him up on b.com and sent him a message setting him straight and telling him to NEVER, EVER do this to anyone again in the future. I'm not a big fan of posting a picture, and hearing things like this makes me even more reluctant to do so. Lady Topaz
