Answering sex questions in age appropriate manner is good. In both those situations, I was about 14 or 15. I don't feel I was groomed or that I didn't discover my own ideas. After all, my mom is not a submissive and not a bdsm'er. She's just a vanilla woman who is open minded about sex and wanted her daughter to be the same way. She was raised in a puritanical christian home and wanted to make sure her daughter was raised in a more open environment. She didn't volunteer info, but she always answered any question I had openly and honestly.

What would make you think that the daughter knows. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty private about my sexual activities that take place in my home because I have kids. I'm wondering what you must have grown up with.

I would have said: "Well hi, nice to meet you. Yes, I am with the same man, thanks for asking." I see no reason, whatsoever to be cryptic. If my daughter asks, I will explain. I think the more you try to hide, the more likely you are to be "outed" - live your life on your sleeve and you have nothing to fear (my personal quote).

Trust me, my kids don't want to know that I have sex. They much prefer thinking we're together for companionship. Which does not mean that the subject of consent has never arisen, it has. But I don't have to use myself in the example. The thing that would most concern me here is his deliberately saying this in front of an adolescent female. I imagine there are few mothers on this site who have never gotten a creepy email saying he wants to train her and her daughter. The fact that he zoomed in on her while with a young female sends up red flags.

Because if I am approached I know it is out of interest in me and there isn’t another agenda at hand. I never walked in on them, or heard them getting busy, but I did find my father's stash of porn...smiles. My parents were very affectionate in front of me too. Hey, every family is different. We ate together when I was a kid, and it is something I try to get my teen to do, but ya know.. as long as you were loved, and not abused that is all that matters. kids can survive a lot if they have love.. including parents that do not set a dinner table...smiles. I think when my son was really young, I was a lot more hung up on what might "infect" his growing mind. It was more about my fears than the reality of it... I would rather my son find out about sexuality in a healthy place than in the boy's locker room. You know, kids DO find out about it from somewhere. Kids that are taught about sex and disease prevention are less likely to have an unplanned pregnancy or get sick from sex... sex education begins as soon as they can ask... it sounds like your parents were up on that. I'm not even sure how I would react to that. I have had one person recognize my pictures from this site on my yahoo profile but it was more like an okkaayyy moment when I got the email. I honestly don't know how I would react especially if I was with family. I would more likely tell them that wasn't something I wanted to discuss right then especially since I was obviously busy with family/friends. But who knows I can speculate all I want to online how I would really react would depend on so many factors such as where I was at, what I was buying (like if I was in a shop that sells bdsm related stuff I wouldn't be all that surprsed), who I was with (my closest friends know what about my lifestyle) things like that.
