I follow JESUS so I'll be as offended by it as I please TY. I RESENT Being thought of as someone that he needs protection from when I Can say the same thing about people who think just like him.
NO I'm OFFENDED andf I REFUSE to just DROP IT!!
If it were anyone else they'd be told to take it off but NOT This one. THAT's a double standard!!!

I cannot believe you're getting offended over a frickin sig line. Do you also get offended by bumper stickers and tshirts?

The catchline "jesus protect me from your followers" came into being because some non-christians were getting treated pretty bad by christians (being bad mouthed by them, discriminated against by them, even losing jobs and child custody cases over religious issues. I've been in the middle of a situation that involved something of the sort myself.

Instead of being mad at people who insult your religion, be mad at those fellow christians for behaving so poorly and earning the whole group a bad name.

NO I get mad at BOTH sides, one because they do nothing bbut provoke each other.two because neither side is right, three because my side isn't supposed to behave that way so my rights as a believer get infringed.
EVERYONE looses in the prccsess.

GeekyGirl -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 8:52:43 AM)

Getting mad over something as simple as a sig line is a waste of time and energy. People have their opinions and they voice them. Get over it or you're going to spend your life worrying yourself to death.

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 9:04:02 AM)

I agree it a waste of time and engery to get all worked up from a sig line.put that engery into some thing postive...bounty

valeca -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 9:04:38 AM)

As has been said, I'd be mightily pissed if someone was tactless enough to approach me about anything BDSM related while I was with any of my spawnlings.  I'd probably give them a disgusted look and move away from them...without responding.

Geeky, I think it's wonderful you had the type of relationship that allowed for open communication with your mother.  I've said since the birth of my oldest 11 years ago I was going to be 'that' kind of mom, but as the questions started coming, I found it was a lot harder to do than say (as it is with most things).  Still, I continue to try.

tml, I hope you're aware of the self-portrait you're putting out there.  It really isn't all that flattering.

SmokingGun82 -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 9:11:57 AM)

Any large group will be judged by the loudest section.

And in religion, the loudest section is comprised of people like Jerry Falwell.

Unless you're willing to defend his comments about September 11, you really can't deny that protection from him and his ilk would be a good thing.

Spoken truely like someone who has NO CONVICTIONS about ANYTHING. and DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO GET OVER. YOU GET OVER IT.

Not only have you *rudely* highjacked the thread, but you are now acting just like the people you are getting offended about.  People like you are the reason I quit religion.

If you have a beef - start your own thread and let us enjoy this one the way it was meant to be.

I would rather listen to Falwell than to PASAFISTS who think and act like 9-11 never happened.

tml721 -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 9:16:07 AM)

I'm on defending what was THROWN in my face. NOW I'M being treated as the bad guy and I RESENT IT.

The advice I would give to a male is that if outed, a couple will be looked at differently, if the male is dom and the female is sub.

If that is the case, the male will be looked at as a victimiser and the female as a victim, hands down, no matter the "consent", even if they are both over 50.  The male will have most of his support stripped away, the woman will have many offer her support, even if she does not want it.  The man, if outed, will basically lose his career (and probably more).

A maleshould consider this RE the topic.

Bold by me.
I totally agree with the way it is seen by others.

Edited to add:
My parents NEVER had sex! I was hatched, or something.           :)

Ignoring that it's "pacifists," you act like there's no middle ground. There's a wide area between ignoring what happened and blaming it on pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays, lesbians, the ACLU, and People For the American Way. There's a wide swath there with people who think action should have been taken faster, and that retaliation should have been swift and brutal, but don't quite think that the ACLU or feminists had much to do with the attacks.

You're starting to bore me now, since I thought maybe you'd be articulate and unique in your replies, but you're just screaming the same things as the rest of your ilk. I'll offer you the same option everyone has- if you don't like what you're seeing, change the channel/station/website/discussion/whatever. Or, hit the little "ignore" button for domiguy.

I'll be exercising both of those options right now... replacing "domiguy" with tml721.

Best wishes.

(Note- the list is Falwell's, not mine. Paraphrased to remove the unnecessary "and" and "the"'s)

tml721 -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 9:56:49 AM)

and YOU'RE showing me your level of understanding when you bring up all the other far left organizations and see no danger in them what so ever.

carolsea -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 10:18:32 AM)

justanotheclaire -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 10:31:50 AM)

this happened to me from a nilla profile  god knows how he worked it out i didnt even have a picture lol totally freaked me though

Lucius -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 10:41:13 AM)

In hopes of getting us back on topic:

It seems to Me anyone has a lot to lose by posting a photo, whether one is a submissive female who may be targetted for victimization by some nutcase, or a Dominant Male who, given the current state of the culture, would be universally condemned and labelled a monster. Perhaps Dominant Females have least to lose -in general- but in some cases I'm sure even for them being "outed" could be catastrophic.

Now I could ask why, therefore, so many people freely post pictures anyway; but if that's their choice, that's okay, I don't need to ask their reasoning. What concerns Me is the number of profiles I've seen that take a demanding tone towards requiring OTHERS to be similarly open with their faces - quite a few that state that if I don't have a photo in either My profile or a message don't bother contacting them, and even one or two that state or imply that there's something wrong with Me if I don't actually have it in My profile.

So I ask; why is this? I already have My NAME out here in public - that's probably already more exposed than anyone has a right to demand I should be. If there have already been a few messages exchanged and things are to the point of "okay, let's talk about meeting" THEN I can understand wanting a photo if only to assure recognition at that first public rendezvous. But as a prerequisite to even talking to someone??

A perfect example of why My photo is no longer on My profile.

The world is a much smaller place than it used to be.

domiguy -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 10:52:25 AM)

TrueCalling -> RE: Publically Outed Recognized from online profile (2/4/2007 11:07:02 AM)

tml721, first you whine about fakes, and now you display your 'brat in a daycare' behaviour....complete with caps and typos! Hmmm, getting the impression that you may not fare well controlling your own self, maybe daycare isnt such a bad idea!

Pardon me, good peoples for the 'interruption'

Always and all ways,
colleen
