Spring Fever!!!!!

Status: offline 		Ack! Since the first week of the year all my gardening catalogs have been rolling in, i count 41 to date.
 
We've all been drooling over some of the stuff and made our lists but i am so bad about them that when a new catalog arrives Scooter has taken to saying " More plant porn for twice!"
 
He placed a pretty big order for me already, we got the seeds but the blue rose  and butterfly bushes and the lemon and lime trees will not ship until it is warmer.
 
I am so bad one Day lily catalog had a get them all offer, two of every variety they have, all 148 of them 1/2 off at $1499.00 and i had to really think about it.
 
So today i started some plants from seed, two rows of onions and radishes, plus 3 pots each of Cilantro, Parsley, Tarragon, 2 kinds of Basil, Peppermint and Dill.
 
Later on i have 10 kinds of hot peppers i want to start.
 
So am i the only one around here with spring fever?
 
What does everybody like to grow?

My favorite thing to grow would be kids... Oh and tomato's.

Status: offline 		Oooohhhh...I love all my catalogs.
I tend to grow flowers since I love having cut arrangements in my house.
Favorites are zinnias, gerbera daisies, sunflowers.
I do an herb garden and lots of tomatoes.  I hesitate to do strawberries since we have bears here and they bring them into the yard.

Status: offline 		TWICE!!!!!!!!!!  I'm jealous - i dont get any catalogs!!  No FAIR.  lol   By chance can ya point me in the direction?

As for what we like to grow - tomatoes (the large ones, cherry ones, and strawberry tomatoes), cucumbers, cilantro, thyme, dill weed,. brocolli, cauliflower, strawberries, right now cabbage, green beens.  We've a lemon and lime tree too..... but eh.  Em.. There's some green peppers (doing poorly)  and spicey red peppers (at my mothers behest).... ooooo and we tried carrots last summer.  Oh and we have some lettuce and spinach growing.  I put down some boc choy (at the behest of my mother).. which did fine for awhile, but the dog enjoyed eating it and my mother didnt want it and well i can only eat so much..... so now its sprouting flowers.  Just random things. 

We've a few rose bushes and some other non veggie producing plants but thats not my "thing"  Thats something my mother does with my daughter.  I tend to steer clear of the flower producing plants or just plants because well..... i have this little daughter who LOVES to pick flowers for mommy....... and how can you say "no, please dont give me flowers?" 

Like its a big yard and there are plants everywhere.  Palm treees and bushes, and flower pot plants and well just loads of stuff everywhere.  Like i said i dun pay much attention to em, i just try and keep em lookin pretty.


i want catalogues!!

Lol, once i too enjoy growing the younguns but now prefer the grand younguns, they are returnable, i never have to say no and they think i am always right.

I am seeding Golden Boy yellow tomatoes and Romas this year.

Hmmm.... to an extent. I intend to use them every day. A kissing session a day keeps the... well hell it is just mandatory!

I used to have a "kick-ass" container garden when I lived outside of the city limits (still city) and I loved my fresh cherry tomatoes and herbs (especially basil... someone told me if you can grow that well, means you are "true of heart") and hot peppers... I also loved to grow impatients and petunias.

However, now, I'm smack-dab in the middle of downtown Boston and the only thing I can grow are indoor plants for some humidity for this freakishly-dry apartment.

I keep a list of sub/slave infractions so when I happen across one I can dish out their deserved punishment.
