Does anyway actually remember what this post was about? Givin the source of the claim I would have to say the annoucement is sketchy at best. Funny that know other research information on this has come from ANYWHERE else in the world. Drug company bullshit aside if this had been true someone in some other country not linked to the US drug industry would have comeforward with studies. Like it was said in one of the earlier posts, I'll beleive it when I see it. As for the comments made later. Have you ever known or even seen someone die of AIDS?, I have. It's not a topic for jokes. And the person I'm refering to got it working as a paramedic...there is no humor in that no matter how you twist it. He died because he helped people. Rest in peace.

I knew that would bring out the "Thought Police" trying to control how others think. I wasn't referring to "dying aids patients" or anything like that it was simply a joke yet all the "open-minded" people read other things into it. Funny that they consider themselves progressive and liberal when they're so anal retentive and repressive. Are you guys SURE you didn't vote for Bush? We, of all people shouldn't be engaging in "Political Correctness!"

In Iran, they don't just let the rope drop during a hanging; they hoist the victim up and allow them to strangle to death, just for shits and giggles.

Why would we believe the leaders of Iran? What defines them as credible? If they had the cure a week ago, why not release it it? How many die a day from aids? Aren't the Religous leaders killing a few million people by not releasing the cure untill next week? Doesn't seem very Islamic to me. I bet on Feb 12 there will still be no cure for aids. My guess is that it involves immune boosting herbs, and converting to Islam. They will try to get people to visit thier mosques around the world to get the cure. Cat Stevens will sing songs about the glory of Shia Islam, ect.. I can hear Speaker Pelosi now, "the Mullahs are trying to help, they are our friends..." But, IF I am wrong I will be very happy.

So they admit this is just part of thier nuclear stratgey? LIke I siad I will be pleased IF I am wrong. Will you continue to admire Iran IF this is shown to be fake? Just part of a Propaganda effort.

I respect many people whose politics, perspective, and goals are in total opposition to mine. Being clear, consistent, adamant, and strong in what you believe earns respect, if for no other reason than those traits are so rare in today's society and political arena. Hypocrisy and a person's or group's deeds diametrically opposed to words merit ire. Whether this "cure" is real or not I find it amazing for the lack of coverage. Compare it to Al Gore's version of the global warming coming in 100 years meriting him a Nobel Prize nomination. Considering his 20 feet projection of the effect to rising tides is 19 feet different from the just released UN report and we have 100 years for the result, shouldn't we be counting down the 5 days to end of this disease? For a country wanting so much to be credible and a "player" in world events a 5 day window for such an absolute announcement carries a lot of risk. Do I believe they have developed a herbal cure? I believe it as much as President Ahmadinejad's proclamation that his goal is the destruction of USA. In that context I hope the claim is false, it will reduce the credibility of any other proclamation coming out of President Ahmadinejad or his county.

I put the "joke" to the acid test. I must admit I had to chuckle when I read it the first time around. I work in the field and know the difference between true stigma & cracking a joke. But, when everyone here started getting all up in arms over the joke, I figured I would go to the ones in the best position to judge the material. So.. I grabbed two guys at work who are positive (one straight the other bi) and told it to them. They laughed their asses off. The comments were (through the laughter) "oh my god.. that is SOOO wrong!" They were laughing for at least a good five minutes. Then I heard one of the guys I told it to telling somone else (who is positive)! And THEY laughed! It struck me as a Carlos Mencia type joke. Just so wrong on so many levels but nevertheless funny. But, maybe it is something personal against the guy who posted it. I dunno.. I don't cruise these forums often enough to know who hates who around here.

Well he falsely asserts that he does not support Hezbollah. So I do not see what you are so enamored with him. I don't see the point of your chrush on the guy. Regarding Gore, I again do not see your point. Why would anything he says matter regarding Iran and an AIDS cure. But we will find out on feb11th I suppose.
