Status: offline 		           Clarification time, 'old guard' is NOT about age, it is about experience and beliefs.It is about having respect for others in this life, both Doms and Subs. We are not judging others lifestyle, that is between the two (or more) people involved.
          What  we are referring to are the Doms and Masters on here that feel that Subs and Slaves are nothing more than receptacles for there urges or a warm body to be abused. Certainly there are Subs that crave that type of relationship and that is their right. But I keep hearing over and over again from Subs how instead of finding a Dom that they can build a relationship with they find fakes or self serving liars. Many leaving the site  in disgust.
          A D/S relationship has to be based on trust and respect, if a Dom is dishonest from the start he isn't serious but just trying to 'play' someone who deserves better.
         As for fireproof clothing, I don't need any, I survived Viet Nam, I can survive this!

And as for the term     (Old Guard) it is used by many and not just gays. So for all you who wanted to know if Ethicaldom was gay NO WAY!!!! He is mine all mine. Am glad so many have choosen to chat on here, but the real subject is about how 4 young ladies I have made friends with have told me about how they were abused and some had taken up to 2 years to completely heal. This one Young Lady is now 19 years old so when we posted this it was to try and get idea's of how we can provent people from using this sight as a way to pick up young ladies and abuse them. Nothing more, so please if you have any sudjestions please feel free to contact Ethicaldom or DarkThunder.

Being submissive does not mean that we get a break from having to think for ourselves unfortunately. It does not mean that we check our brains at the door when someone claims to be a "dom". We do not get a pass on accepting responsibility for making bad relationship choices.

If submissives on this site do not take steps to protect themselves against those who would use them and abuse them, well there are plenty of warnings about such abusers in this very forum. I have rarely seen general acceptance of the view that we as submissives should blindly trust strangers over the internet

Submissives are known to hurt the dominant people on this site too. To feed them bullshit stories, bilk them for cash, and the like. It is just as wrong, and doms are just as forewarned.

I do not know what spurred this rant here, but it is slightly misplaced, because most of the people that would act as you describe are not posting on this forum that I have seen... although I could be wrong about that...

When you invent the magic failsafe to protect helpless submissives from their own bad judgment, please share it with me, because I have shown some bad judgment of my own. There is no policing the internet... and to be honest, I do not want it policed personally, I prefer freedom I suppose.

UH DUH!!! it's the freaking internet.  What is it with people?  They come online and think that they aren't going to run into predators?  What makes online community any different then the local bar, club etc?  Get real, get responsible, and get smart.  People need to start taking responsibility for the choices they make. 

If EthicalDom was trying to deal with the situation you just spoke of why didn't he say that instead of harping on and on and not being clear on what his concern is?

Umm... I don't remember anyone wondering about if he is gay or not. The question was more "Why is he proclaiming/hinting at belonging to/whatever a lifestyle that was orginally made (to the best of my latent information gathering) of gay men?" Next subject: Why do you care so much if people thought he was? It's not like it's an insult or anything... Topic B: If that was the actually subject of your post... it didn't come across anywhere.

Newsflash: Abuse happens in vanilla world. It also happens in triple-fudge chocolate swirl world. Even the precious "Old Guard" had/has some abusive fuckheads. There isn't a lifestyle free of abuse. Unless you want to go be a Shaker. And there was probably something going on there too.
