OMG the idea of being used as an easy button makes me REALLY hot.  Of course I haven't had an orgasm in two days either and that might add to it.

*pushes the LA Easy Button

Couldn't resist THAT!!!

shybutsweet,

For us, SM is what we do.  It is just a lot of fun.

D/s or M/s is a relationship structure.  We consider our relationship M/s because he can exercise authority in whatever way or aspect that he chooses to exercise his authority.  If I placed limits on his authority and how he could exercise it, then we would consider our relationship D/s.

We prefer the use of the word authority over words like power or control.  I still have my power, he just chooses what I do with it.  I still have control over myself and my actions, he just chooses how I will exercise that control.  What he has is the authority in my life.  Many time he delegates that authority back to me, either for a moment or until he decides otherwise.

There are many variations of master; BDSM does not have sole claim to this word.

As we were giving the young lady what she asked for, ie terms and their usage in BDSM, my thoughts stand.

If she wants to become  a chef i'll defer to you.

remember that someone may not have the same definitions as you for what it is that they are doing..

But having an initial idea of the term for what you are or think you are is helpful.

If you introduce yourself as a male dominant do not be offended when you are only approached by female subs even if you are really a female slave yourself.

How we "label" or introduce ourselves has a lot to do with folks initial perceptions of us.

Unless of course you want to spend hours explaining why you used that particular term when you were only defining it in your own way and what you really wanted as a female slave was to meet a few dominant men.

Once you meet what type you are looking for, then do take the time to communicate how you see your role, your desires and needs.

Twicehappy,

I have no desire to bring this debate up between the two of us. My comments were the the general thread, and not aimed at you at all. I do not think mine is the only valid opinion out there. If you want to debate this further with someone else, fine by me, but you will not be debating it with me, and I will continue to post my views in this public forum just as you do.

Peace out!

The information was intended for the OP as a refute for the information you supplied.

I also am simply posting my opinion.

But given your penchant for having the last passive/aggresive word, let us see how long your statement holds.

Thank you all so much for your help in this. I find it to be a little overwhelming at times. It is nice to know that there are so many people wiling to share. I really enjoy the forums. I have learned so much and am still learning. Thank you agian.

Hey, if anything I said was helpful that would make my day! I remember when I was new to everything, and I just listened like a sponge and soaked it in. Communicate Communicate, Communicate.. and remember that someone may not have the same definitions as you for what it is that they are doing..

Peace

I apologize for the poor edumacation level of strumpet.

The word is "Communicant."

As does the way the leather community uses the term master and owning a slave is not a requirement to receive that title.
