Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life;
Whose misadventur’d piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents’ strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark’d love,
And the continuance of their parents’ rage,
Which, but their children’s end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours’ traffick of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:17:02 PM)

If Big Bill Shakespeare is so great why is he so difficult to understand.

What does the 3rd line from the bottom mean ?
Too many cars in ancient Verona ?

missturbation -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:20:50 PM)

He's not difficult to understand if you try !!

Romeo and Juliet?! That was a dirty trick.  No one can resist it.  Anyway, I saw that earlier today.  I've never seen anything like it.  They were saying that the man was killed in battle and then she was sacraficed so he would have someone to travel to the afterlife with.  But I don't know how they came up with that. They both had arrows in them.  Couldn't they have just as likely been both killed in an attack and they died holding eachother that way?  Either way it's a hell of a display of devotion.

HydroMaster -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:26:39 PM)

It's just old English.  It's not hard once you get the hang of it.

HydroMaster -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:29:31 PM)

The 3rd line from the bottom is a continuation of the line before it. He saying that the story of the two lovers end is the play that you're about to watch....if of course your were watching the production and not reading it.

missturbation -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:31:38 PM)

It aint rocket science is it hun [:D]

HydroMaster -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:34:24 PM)

Nope, just gotta read all the lines...and between the lines...and sometime in the notes you find written in used text books at college lol.

missturbation -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:37:22 PM)

Im reading the marquis de sade at the moment and have giggled at some of the readers notes in that [:D]

HydroMaster -> RE: Prehistoric lovers found locked in eternal embrace (2/7/2007 2:43:34 PM)

My favorites are the notes people leave when they can't understand and just start making things up :-)  I heven't read anything for a couple months.  The last thing a read was Merchant of Venice.

In response to 'a particularly unpleasant group of sexual deviations, or a synonym for the most cynical and depraved types of cruelty' the reader has written anal sex in caps lol.
To ' the priority of the strong over the weak was always one of the laws of nature.' has the word bollocks written by the reader next to it.
You think he / she may have disagreed?

My patient ears my impatient mind
forever have found Big Bill a bind.
He who strode not the fair green fields of Warwickshire
tis said found distaff pleasures a mysteree
wrote melodies that rise in passion,  transcending
the learned confusion Big Bill dispenses
to lead those who follow with  emotions high

I refer of course to Mr Pytor Tchai.

Boom Boom
