ORIGINAL: juliaoceania I think it will snow in hell before anyone changes the constitution to let someone foreign born be president, whether you agree with it or not. Seriously, it is more likely that we will not be the USA before that happens. Changing it to allow a certain person to be president just is not feasible, and one side or the other is usually not keen to do so based on some cult of personality for partisan reasons. Julia i hope you are right but when bush gets a standing ovation from congress when stating that he will enforce the law even when it is not in effect is treason! He got a standing ovation! That doesnt concern you? It is in several of the vids i posted. I will admit I did not watch those videos, but I think that it is a stretch to think that because one thing happened (The Patriot Act) that another one will (allowing Arnie to be president). Who is the congress now? Democrats are. Many Republican politicians have xenophobic voters who would not like the constitution changed that way. Is this really something that you should spend time worrying about when there are so many other things more important to be concerned about? My opinion is that worry is a lot like sitting in a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but you do not go anywhere. If someone proposes this amendment, and it starts to pick up steam, then worry about it.... julia i responded to this with a very lenthy post, however the mods moved it which of course when you try to post to a thread that has been moved it all gets lost, and i do have a few things i have to get done today...
