I have been enjoying a thread above on why so many people in this lifestyle are overweight.
I have been lurking and posting on these boards for a long time and I have never seen so many people
reading or posting on a topic.
Now the usual complainers are starting to whine about beating a dead horse again.
If everyone on here is reading and posting, evidently we DO want to talk about.
Why do so many attempt to control what others post or want to write about on here.
If the topic does not interest you, why not do what most do?
Don't read it, don't post just to complain, move the hell on!

How is that dictating what can be talked about?? In what way is stating an opinion different to yours "dictating" anything to you?

In one breath you say that you should be able to post anything you want, and in the next breath you say that others should not be able to do the very same thing...

The only people who dictate what can and cannot be posted here are the mods. The only time they step in is when things get totally out of control.

Again, there are about 50 people clearly reading and replying to the post.
Why would people attempt to stop them from doing that?
That is my question?  You can't control what people enjoy reading and posting about.
I don't care if the question is asked every week, clearly people are interested and posting.
I predict at least 10,000 replies to that topic, let me go back to the topic!

Posting a reply to say to ask "Why are you beating a dead horse again"?
Is asking why are we talking about it again.
You are right, you are entitled to your opinion.
As I said above, If you don't like the topic or the thread?
Don't read it! Don't post to complain, Move on!
When did common sense become not so common?

But that is the thing asubmissiveheart....people in general just like to complain...I just don't let it bother me....LOL...I am sure given time....every single person here will have at least one person complain to something about them.  Is just human nature.

I don't see the sense it posts like that state the obvious...but some people just like to do that...tis there right..

How is suggesting that it is a dead horse telling people not to post???

The thing is that this particular topic (along with many others) has been done many many many times. Some people are tired of the same topic and they have a right to voice their unhappiness at seeing that topic again. Just as you have the right to continue discussing it. They also have the right to post disagreements about anything that they want on any thread they want... just like you do.
If you feel that people should not reply to something they don't like... why not follow your own advice? Why make it a huge topic?... let it go like you are asking others to do.

Okay beth, thank you darling.  People enjoy complaining you are right.
No matter what the topic is, I notice at least 50% of the posters are complaining about something even the topic itself.
Thank you, know let me go back and piss off some more of the overweight posters.

QuietKitten, on any given day, I find at least 85% of all topics boring, stupid or just dumb.
Do you think I take the time, to write a post to complain?
I need to go, you do what you do best.
Take care.

asubmissiveheart,
people seem to love to complain about anything on any given day....what you say on complaining is true....as for trying to prevent people from posting? no one can...if people want to give an opinion, short of their internet connection failing, they will.
lol

As an "overweight" slave, i have to say that it is not by choice but due to many medical problems i have and have had in the past.

i recently lost in total 150lbs and need to lose at least another 100lbs before i am at my normal weight, however that being said, i don't have any stomach muscles from all the surgeries i have had over the years.

i am not saying that there aren't some here that have no reason to be overweight, but just stating why i personally am overweight.

i don't mind seeing topics about it once in a while because i feel good about me, the fact i have lost so much weight and am still losing weight.

my only issue is that due to medical problems i have to ask the doctor for safe ways to tone up my stomach so that i can start to rebuild my stomach muscles.

if anyone has a safe way a type 2 diabetic can build stomach muscles safely without doing the usual sit ups please feel free to drop me a note here on the boards or my email here on the site.

Thanks :)

To the OP: If you do not like what someone has said, do NOT complain about the post but move on.  If a post interests you, but you don't like the wording then be polite in your posts and you will find that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. lol

Isn't it funny, no one told anyone they could not talk about whatever they wanted, but you are certainly trying to get others to quit expressing themselves. You can talk about anything you like under the TOS, so can I... amazing how that works?

So your point becomes a little pot-kettle-black.. but I love the irony of it

Uh? No. He is not being hypocritical. Nor is he trying to control anyone's participation. And starting a thread which is itself a complaint (and a rather gentle one at that) is in no way the same as a person busting in on an existing thread for the sole and selfish purpose of getting indignant about the topic. He is quite right, they shouild just move on. But they can't. They just have to bitch.

Why? It would seem either they have nothing better to do or they hope to close down the topic, hence the charge of trying to dictate. Their attempt may be fruitless but it is still an attempt. They are not arguing the topic, they are trying to stifle discussion.

This, for example, is why the Goreans have their own forum, because people who have nothing better to to do than to look for things to bitch about, would hunt down Gorean topics so they could engage in gratuitous eye rolling and sneering.

If you can't see that this sort of behaviour intends to be controlling then you should be looking more closely.

You hit the nail on the head, they are ATTEMPTING to stifle the conversation.
It is so pathetic and obvious and desperate, yet the must and will continue to do it.
They rather bitch than move on.

I move on.Sometimes I let emotions get the better of Me and post anyway.
As far as the over weight one I cant decide what to post...
I have some really good answers,(being fat and all) perhaps I shall post them all...LOL

Well....you have 100 posts.  Some here have thousands.....and they have seen the same threads come up over and over and over again.  So they say 'beating a dead horse'...or some do this ......or some do this  .

You will learn that most do not even pay attention to that stuff and continue posting anyway.  So you might as well get used to it...it comes with the territory.
