Seems Gore wasnt so funny as the spin machine tried to make him.
Remember the 'lock box'?
What was so rediculous about leaving social security alone? 
Now they are claiming it is going broke.   Well duhhhhhh.   How much has
been robbed out of it to pay for this illegal, immoral war?
I would be proud to have Al Gore take his rightful place in the whitehouse.

Status: offline 		He ran way too far to the left. In the end, people will just view him as a radical. And radicals of the right or left do extremely poorly in US presidential elections. Centrists like Bill Clinton do extremely well. That's why Giuliani is gaining a lot of early traction right now and why Hillary and Edwards are both trying to shed the left-wing label.

Regardless of what Faux News has told you, Al Gore never wrote packet transport
protocols for internet routers.

What Al Gore did as a congressman was vote to fund money for ARPANET and DARPANET
which ultimately became the Internet.

Maybe you are uncertain about the duties of the US congress, but one of their jobs is to VOTE to
FUND things.

To state that Al Gore ever once claimed to invent the internet is simply idiotic, biased, and uninformed.

Status: offline 		I try to have a good sense of humor ... but do fail sometimes.
 
I hated the way the last Presidential election went. I hated the crap spouted by the Swift Boat guys, and the Move-On folks. No proof for anything ... just accusations ... and when anyone called them on it, they put the burden on the accused to prove the false accusations were wrong.
 
I hate the name calling ... it's just childish. I hate jokes that aren't really meant to be funny ... they are meant to slam. The Tonight Show political satire is funny ... spreading misquotes about a former Vice President of the United States, just isn't.
 
Then again, I'm starting to think the voting age should change to a window of eighteen the twenty-five. Most people I know over twenty five, are so entrenched and jaded, that they really shouldn't be voting, in my view.

Status: offline 		     The whole '08 picture just looks so bleak right now.  Al is simply someone I will not vote for.  That PMRC thing had lousy timing in my life, and I'm sometimes one to hold a petty grudge.

Status: offline 		LOL   Although I am a Republican I have spent more time working for Demcrats than I can believe.   LOL

They were all local candidates for like Mayor or Councilman or dog catcher or whatever where political affiliation usually doesn't matter.   I belonged to a Toastmasters Club that was mostly Democrat party leaders or congressional lobists for dem projects.   Strange how that works.   Then we got "bubba" from in the heat of the night as our mayor and almost everyone rebelled against some of his stuff - setting up a full time film commission with a staff larger than the public works administration division, getting the X-games, etc.

We probably won't have a wide choice in the next election. There seems to be quite a few good candidates, but most will have similar platforms. I've already decided to take a stand ... I'm going to vote for the candidate that runs the most tasteful, issue based campaign. I have no problem with attacking someone's policies, but the moment it gets personal, or slips into the unproven, I'm off that train forever.

    Welcome to the long walk, Caitlyn.  Hope you have good hiking boots.  '12 might be the year we finally get a viable third party candidate and a fresh landscape.  Of course, the Mayan calender says the world will end (as we know it) about a month after the election anyway.

I believe that Senator McCain will run an issue based campaign. I also believe the hard right will do a "swifties" on him and ruin his chances, which I find a shame.
 
Senator Obama has promissed to keep things positive.
 
You may think I'm mad, but I think Senator Clinton will be very aggressive, but stick to the issues. I think slipping into the mud would smash any chance she has, and I think she is too smart to make that kind of mistake.
 
I may be nieve ... but I'm actually hopeful.

I fear Hillary.   The fear is based upon her setting up the healthcare system to send you to jail and fine you if you didn't go to the doctor she prescribed for you when she was working on that for Bill.

I don't know enough about Obama to care one way or the other.

Wish Liz Dole would run against Hillary.   That would be a fun race.  Major cat fight    lol

Status: offline 		When it comes to international affairs, Nixon was a very good President and not to be mocked. Maybe he is a villified figure in the US for his domestic short comings but his international status is light years ahead of Bush. Maybe he was a criminal for Watergate but he is far less a criminal than the Bush for all the innocent blood he has spilt due to his lies. I think Al Gore would be a very good President for restoring the US's international standing as he is seen as a man with some integrity.
