**Okay here is my silly Sunday question**
Would you consider a very poor submissive that had all the qualities you seek for in a submissive EXCEPT money?
I mean this guy is good looking, sweet, devoted, dedicated, loyal, sincere, obedient, etc.

Maybe he just declared bankruptcy, or his business went under!
He will probably be back on his feet, in a few years, maybe.

Would you go ahead and collar this man?

Absolutely... Particular if he came with minimum baggage and maximum sex appeal (a mix of not-too-pretty-or-too-ugly/smarts) and obedience.   M

No, because he should be focusing himself on getting his life back on track.  Reality first, fantasy second.

In a heartbeat... but then again we're looking for someone that doesn't want to or have to work outside the home... so money really is no issue.

MsBTL, I am with you on this one.  I figure once I really trust him and he is collared, he can come live with me.
He can work 1 full time job and then help me cook, clean, run errands and fix up my home.

It would completely depend on why s/he was in that situation.

Broke due to unforseeable tragedy?  Sure!

Broke due to or with a serious pattern of financial instability?  No.

I'm not so much concerned with the amount in their wallet as what causes the amount to be what it is.

I don't think I'd find myself attracted to someone who let his life fall apart or that took unrealistic financial risks.  I am attracted to men that are ambitious, creative, passionate, driven and have a high level of self respect. That said, my man had nothing when I met him, and I support him still.  I prefer that he stays home while I work.  I find that being the breadwinner is consistent with my femdom urges -- I want him to have all of his energy devoted to making sure I'm pleased.  That means not competing with a full time job.

I would work with him a while and see how he does before I collared him.  You can have a rich submissive and they can turn out to be a bad one.  It just depends on the relationship involved.

If he currently had a job that supported him and his current bills, yes, absolutely. Everyone makes mistakes, especially financially. As long as he's working to correct them and not looking for me to raise him, I'd go for it.

It would depend on the individual, and the reason he is in that situation.  I don't have much tolerance for under-acheivers in life - people who have never done much for themselves and don't have any ambition to take more than menial jobs.

However, a college educated sub who isn't necessarily making a fortune, but can support himself and is passionate about his job, is very attractive to me.

I agree with this totally.  If his circumstances were due to an unforeseeable tragedy, and he is basically an ambitious, hardworking, and industrious person, and has the track record to prove it, I'd be open to it.  All of us occasionally have unfortunate circumstances occur in our lives, and they can be surmounted.

If, on the other hand, he is in that situation due to irresponsibility, laziness, or lack of ambition, I'd definitely take a pass.  Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.  Never, ever again.

Quick answer... Angel is a student.
He is collared, and as usual for a student, hes broke.  But, he is the perfect little pet.

So, yes, I would.

I already have collared him. No money is not a deal breaker with me. However I do want to teach him how to handle it better than he does. The reason being I'm not going to live forever and somewhere down the road he may have to take care of his own finances. That causes me concern. So we are working on it a little bit at a time so he feels comfy about it.

Like most men he isn't used to someone telling him how to spend his money or teaching him how to budget. But I've told him unless he hits the Megamillions lottery he damn sure better learn how to start saving.

We shall see how it goes.

All the ladies have replied nicely, I guess this means we are certainly not in this lifestyle for the money!

Agreed.

I'd also consider what a potential is currently doing.

Are they going back to school?

Are they willing and able to take a part-time job?

Truth is, I'm not wealthy so until I am (ha ha ha) everyone in the household must contribute and at minimum not be any financial burden at all.

If he's sincere and isn't looking for a loan from me then sure. I don't expect gifts or any of that. I just need him/her to be a willing participant.

Still someone with a job is going to win more points over someone who has no source of income.

I think it's all been said. Someone who prefers to be rich than be a good submissive isn't really going to work for me. As long as he/she is willing to work hard at whatever I decide they should do in the vanilla world and is willing to learn the lessons I teach them about financial management then that's enough. In fact I have the other problem I am working with a sub/slave who is so bloody intelligent I haven't a clue what he is talking about sometimes and I have still no real understanding of what he does for a living lol. It's good training for him though to learn to talk to me in a way I can understand. He is getting the hang of it finally.
