NorthernGent -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 11:08:11 AM)

hot1, what you choose to put in your profile is your call. If you feel like steering your own course until you find someone who earns your respect, then go for it. From where I'm standing, you don't have to justify yourself to anyone but the mods who run this site (in the interests of house rules).

In terms of particulars, if there is a problem, any half decent person will say "thanks but no thanks" rather than give you a hard time. I mean, how much can you put in a profile anyway?

A reasonable conversation will go:

"Hi, nice profile".....

"Thanks, you seem nice"......

Anything else you want to share"......

"Yeah, there's this......"......

"Not a problem for me" or "thanks but no thanks"

No drama. The person on the other end either takes it, or leaves it and moves on.

My advice - go your own way and, in the meantime, move on to a thread where you can have a joke and a laugh rather than chase your tail justifying yourself to strangers.

She is not who she says she is..  She tries to come off as the charming one, but I saw the real person in that note..  And believe you me, she is anything but.  When she did not get the answer she wanted, and when she did not get the validation and the pat on the back, she got extremely ugly.

The whole thread is a waste of time and your sucker punch was a wasted effort too....  We know where your allegiances are and anyone with half a brain can see through that post.

I'm not interested in mails I haven't seen. I'll speak as I find and so far so good.

lol you're welcome[:)]
I'm bisexual, but I don't submit to men and women are my preference (therefore I state myself lesbian) so you'd have to deal with me as an equal so sorry[;)]

cjenny -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 11:49:25 AM)

This is such a tame thread... to be generating such hostility. Especially considering that so few emails are generated based on likes/dislikes in a profile. Instead contact seems to be generated by looks or newbie fresh-meat status.
I agree that you *general you* shouldn't outright lie on a profile, that is a sheer waste of time and energy for everyone. On the flip side, *general you* really shouldn't have to tailor a profile to exactness, it should be a tool not an end all be all.
I also agree that if something impacts you to a certain point it really should be in a profile, not kept hidden until emotions are involved.

Ultimately what *general you* puts into your profile is erm.. yup.. up to you.

*shakes her head in confusion, reading profiles & encountering the actual personalities that don't seem to mesh*

Ha!........you can be as equal as you want on the end of my leash :-) Wipe your paws before re-entering my house and we will be equal.........otherwise, you will find yourself metophorically and literally in the dog house. How does that sound for equality?

Ok.....I am pissed....my pet peeve is shallow people.

I just received an email from someone who comes across as being very very shallow.  I responce only half rude...I mean I could of ripped a piece out of him...and simply said that because of a disability I cannot do heels and corsets...to which he comes back giving me hell becuase the fact that I have a mild disability it is not in my profile.....I was hurt and pissed.....but now am thinking should it be?  At the same time whose business is it?  Not that I hide it...but I refuse to let it interfer with living my life.  What's the big deal that I can't do heels and corset....Hell I can't sweep and scrub floors either.....nor can I lift over 30 pounds...so that ALL is supposed to be in the profile.

Oh..I am at work so likely not able to really respond much until I get home tonight...but will try..

beth

Don't sweat the small stuff or the small minded, Hot1. Your profile states, quite clearly, that there are many sides to you. If someone wants to make an assumption that means you're perfect and flawless, then they are foolish.

If you feel your mild disability is important, can prevent you from doing things a potential dominant would require, then sharing that in one of the first few emails is more than good enough for the average Joe. If someone is pissed off that you didn't make it uber easy for them to weed you out then I would wonder how much work they are willing to put into a relationship at all.

After a night of drinking, sometimes on the next day, I've been known to occasionally poop my pants should this be in my profile?

sensualmagirl -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 1:06:03 PM)

well, if you plan on going out drinking with her, bringing her home that same night, maybe it does not need to be in the profile, but instead something you should warn her about domiguy... so, she knows to sneak out in the middle of the night.

p.s.  gross...

mnottertail -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 1:07:48 PM)

what if she is a scatmonger?

anything can happen out here.....

sensualmagirl -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 1:10:50 PM)

well, I guess, that could be the solution, domiguy needs to find a sub with that kink in her profile.

p.s. not passing judgement, but, well, gross... [;)]

domiguy -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 1:16:56 PM)

Well if you aren't going to address your weight in your profle you probably aren't going to profess your love for a "Cleveland Steamer" or "Saluting the Colonel."

Anywhoo it's not always that I poop it's more of taking the risk with a fart....You know the ones they call the "Gambler."....and all to often I end up unfortunately losing the hand, and my shorts in the process.

SirFlogger4U -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 1:24:06 PM)

Hmmm now, LOL I've had so many thoughts over how to respond it's incredible. The idea of a profile isn't just what you write about yourself but also what you fill out in the extra stuff and for CM its the Intrests section and if it is filled out completely telling what you love to what your hard limits are then I get a real good idea of who you are and if YOU are worth persuing. Now, what you write about what your seeking rather than what your not makes me for example want to write you.

Now what goes along with that is finding you in some of the chatrooms and yea sometimes the forums as I get a better inside view of you as a person... BUT!!!! POLL TIME........ How many of you actually attend on a regular basis getitng together in some fashion be it either a munch, play party, local club if there is one or just hang out?? I challenge you to answer that.

Now beth sweetie you wrote nothing wrong but....... LOL (they're all goin' here it comes).........

in the INTEREST area of where our profiles are cover our hard limits and I know Domestic Servitude is there then kindly post it under HARD LIMITS, if you don't want to be shit upon then post it the same way. NOW I DID!!!!!!!!!! read profiles of the people who posted here and most... NOT ALL were filled in so I knew whether I thought you did or could fit into my life as I desired.

Now this ahem *person*(idiot) and I use the term loosely who wrote beth that caused her to write a TOPIC in the first place.. and was alluded to in a few responses wasn't worth the time and I totally agree. My suggestion to any of you send back in BIG as the Fonts allow show a real burst of laughter HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Well you've heard my piece and I'll be watching as to how my little challenge goes.....

I don't get out much, I know that was a joke, and I'm laughing... can laugh quite well at myself...

However, it would be much funnier if I understood what: "Cleveland Steamer" or "Saluting the Colonel." meant... LOL

LaTigresse -> RE: What should and should not be in your profile? (2/12/2007 1:27:45 PM)

I would have to actually be able to read it coherently to challenge it. Too many long run on sentences to confuse the simple minded like me.
