I am a mystical demon with immeasurable magical powers....I once took a sprig of rosemary...some ginger...one well seasoned pork loin...ate it!

Aproximately 12 hours later I turned it into poop!...Voila!

no your not...are you? you do realise your loins will be on fire soon dont you? (gets his flame thrower)

If you look at modern medicine ( i say modern i mean in the last 50 years) alot of the chemists use natural herbs and plants but dilute, i think once we re-discover those herbs and methods from the past perhaps we will once again use nature to treat natural ailments...but i doubt it!

Well for demon repellent, I use ye ole remedies of garlic,
salt and chili peppers.  Then I start cooking up dinner.

They can heal AND they can kill but i guess that is applicable to anything that is taken excessively, many herbs were said to heal because of spirits they induced but many say that the properties are really the ability to make you feel good thus upping your immune system.

Mmmm i thought Garlic was for Vampires...and attracting Frenchmen?

cjenny -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:08:36 PM)

The pills and potions we now take under doctors orders came from plants. They were the basis for pharmeceuticals and medicine (and some fun too, like my peoplenip hehe). My willow tree outside is often used for willow bark tea, tastes awful but good for a headache. Willow as most know is one basis for aspirin.
One major crappy thing is that an awful lot of that is still unfound down in SA, but it is being so rapidly demolished that countless plants are never going to be seen. Some days I just think about the idea that cures for major things are within our grasp right now but they won't be there much longer :(
I'm not a chemist but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. With herb.

cjenny -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:11:54 PM)

Yup. She is nearly 20 with very sharp teeth lol.

bludemonn -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:12:46 PM)

yes but why a holiday inn?..... The basis for medicine is from Plants and there is a lost world of herbology which vastly pre-dates modern herbology, its also not what you use but how you use it, herbs go hand in hand with olde magic but without the correct understanding they are just foliage.

Now where did Rosemary go....

sensualmagirl -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:14:58 PM)

I have lots of herbal remedies I do beleive in... would have to give them some thought, most of them were for female ailments...

As far as warding off "evil" do you mean also negative spirits? I heard burning sage (in the form of a "smudge stick") is supposed to be really good for that... I usually do the sage candle thing, hoping it has the same effect [;)]

cjenny -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:15:30 PM)

I had a coupon.
It used to be a dream of mine to go to SA and find a rare never before seen monkey heehee. Okay I was young and idealistic (that means I didn't know about all the bugs/snakes) but think of it.. a new monkey! jennyious monkeious.

That's kind of mean isn't it, to name her Barney?  She isn't a purple dinosaur. [:D]

cjenny -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:19:07 PM)

Heyyyyyyy she is way way pre purple dinosaur! That thing wasn't around yet. That I know of.. hmmm. Aw okay. Poor kitty.
My female dog is named Mickey.
Hahahahaha.

bludemonn -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:21:32 PM)

you are a cheeky one, so do you ever refer to herbal remedies or use them for purposes OTHER than cooking?

bludemonn -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:25:07 PM)

Evil/negative energies yes, you see this does go deep into what particular belief system you subscribe to, god fearing people will use the Bible to give them guidance and protection, some will see negativity as Evil spirits and thus refer to olde remedies and some will see it as negative energy and try to nullify it by surrounding themselves with positivity but its all the same, all of us have to overcome one thing, the mind and all its murky doorways.

FukinTroll -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:26:25 PM)

I...... keep trying..... to post...... here.... but my fingers..... are..... burning.

kindaeasy69 -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:26:49 PM)

It's no wonder they keep getting into the peoplenip [:D]

cjenny -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:29:48 PM)

I don't know if it ties into my belief system or not, especially at 1:30am lol. There is a balance but I have never linked it to plant energy. Thinking now..
*SMACKS* any hand goin for my peoplenip!

sensualmagirl -> RE: HERBAL MAGIC (2/14/2007 10:31:31 PM)

Bludemonn... That's a bit to philosophical for me at this time of night... but, I think I know what you are saying.

I just know when I move into a new apartment, I try to burn sage smudge sticks, but, they do stink something aweful...

Black Onyx, I was told, is also good to ward off negative influences.
