Hi, you are absolutely correct in pointing out that you and Beth acted with lovely intentions towards me from the very beginning. I never said otherwise. I have not stepped back from my high opinion of Beth's willingness to speak the truth as she sees and feels it.

I feel that your email has helped set the record straight. Thank you. The original messages and lessons learned were lost along the way as people mistakenly thought that I was seeking to hear "good girl" or receive pats on the back. I too was seeking the truth and remain willing to take a hard look at reality.

Can we perhaps lay this down now and move onward? I appreciate your mention of Las Vegas. I will not count out it.

Merc/Beth,

Glad to see your still with us. I've had the same problem from time to time. Occassionally I'll get a "page not found" or "page cannot be displayed". My guess is its a combination of latency issues (ie. the CM server is overloaded or there are network problems) or a DNS problem.

When you enter "collarme.com" into your web browser, your computer talks to one of your ISP's servers - a "name server". That server's job is to translate "collarme.com" into a unique IP address. If you lose name service from your ISP your pretty much dead in the water unless you know the IP address of CM (then you can enter the IP address into your browser and bypass name service).

It could also be a problem in your local dns cache. If you have this problem again try dropping out to a command prompt on your home computer (Start/Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt) and type: "ipconfig /flushdns". That'll clear your cache and retreive updated dns info.

Glad it was all just a glitch.

Atavist,
Thanks - but was that Klingon or Russian?? It was one of those 'lol' computer moments! Thanks, I'll try it tonight. I still have access from the office so the only one locked out at this point is beth. I'll send her an email with your input. Appreciate it!

Rose,
Glad to hear that you are still open to Vegas. If beth had access today, I'm sure she'd concur. Onward and Upward! And I think that's also the name of one of the rides at the top of the Stratosphere tower!

I confess, it was Geek. I'd draw you a picture but I'm all outa crayons (g).

It isn't that hard, just run "ipconfig /flushdns" in that little black screen with the DOS prompt.

On the other hand, you can fly me to Vegas and bring the computer....

Percussive maintenance?

Hell I dunno... I do know you are neither banned or on post moderation as explained in email.

We do send out warnings, often we send a warning without any action... just a please do not do that..:-)

If you recieve multiple warnings or it was a serious infraction you may be placed on moderation for a week the first time. Often we do the 1 week, 2 week thing. Unless of course you have been warned before hand that your behavior was so bad that another infraction will send you out the door. Or, if you are only here to cause problems.. if it is that obvious, well yanno.. something about a boot to the bottom.... banned you are.

Also, when we ban we not only look at the IP we ban the name as well.

So no matter where you post from, you cannot get in under the name that was banned.

beth's BACK!!!!

Home computer now with access to CollarMe.

After 3 days of frustration and blame, the home computer again has access to CollarMe. The gremlins have been purged. We, really beth, used every suggestion we received both from this thread and those that wrote to us directly. Thank you all.

None of the suggestions worked by the way. What did? We still don't know. All of a sudden the link was just available again, in the same manner it was unavailable.

Appreciate all the assistance!

Mod 5,
Because I've been instructed to study the TOS in anticipation of becoming a "Made Mod" or profile reviewer, I considered that before posting the correspondence you site. You'll note that the only quote correspondence was from us. The attorney in me (Over the course of time in business, I've paid enough attorney's fees to qualify as an "honorary esquire".) interprets the TOS to be directed to correspondence received from a third party. Is this not the intent?

No further questions, your honor.

Ahh, bless you - I've been having the same problem, and have been hunting for that command.

I spent much of yesterday trying to get logged in here - was able to reach the personals/email side of things by using the address "http://69.36.229.169", but I couldn't reach the message boards by any route.

This morning, it was again working - but when I used the link to the message boards, I was dropped to "guest" status - thus my email to you, thinking this topic was locked. (No, I'm not at my most observant before my third cuppa java.)

I'm guessing that there's something not quite right in one of the cookies that collarme.com sets - as I've had this problem sporadically for a while, but only here.
