I agree that the cashier in the OP's case was way out of line.  Whether the OP was giving off a "vibe" or not, the cashier's reaction would have had to be an order of magnitude milder to just be "uncalled for."
 
I've been very fortunate over the last few years to have had nothing worse that the neutral reaction I'd get if I was buying facial tissue.  On the contrary, I've had some interesting converstations on various cosmetic purchases with "teeny bopper" clerks.  Of course at my advanced age, that is a rather wide age range!
 
One occasion in particular stands out.  In a Shopper's Drug Mart in Vancouver, I spent ten minutes or so discussing nail polish, cosmetic cleansing pads and other odds and ends with two clerks who were right around twenty.  Hell, I even managed to give them a useful tip or two.  They seemed to feel it was nothing out of the ordinary.  Of course, being in the gay village area of Vancouver might have had something to do with their blasé reaction.
 
I'd have no hesitation in speaking to management if i ever got a reaction like the OP's.

wow, asshole.

the point has less to do with the fact that he is a submissive, and more to do with the fact that anyone should be able to buy anything without being made to feel guilty, embarrassed, or humiliated. if a cashier plays a part in them feeling that way by laughing at them or something like that, the cashier isn't doing their job.

Had the OP come in and announced that he was  as slave being punished and made to make a purchase, MAYBE thered be some way out reason for you to be so sarcastic.  However, unless he was wearing something that stated what he was, how did the cashier presume to know anything about who he was or why he was buying?
Do I have to worry when I go into astore if I buy Depends for my best friends grandmother becasue I happen to be out and they need them, that the cashier is going to make me uncomfortable? Its none of the cashier's business what someone is buying or why.

This is not a D/s isue, its a sexual stereotyping thing, where a man buying a femenine product was assumed to be of an aternate lifestyle or sexuality. Sub or Dom, the assumption was mde becausue of the gneder, and thats not right.  I work retail and I know we are warned when we are trained that things like that are not appropriate.  The only possible excuse for something like that would be that the OP's timing hapened to have been very bad, and there had been a discusion having nothing to do with specifically him that had started the laughing jag. If the cashier's reaction was specific to him, she was wrong. Slave or not.

I dont see the big deal to be honest.....men buy feminine things all the time not for themself. but this was ur experience and if it bothered you then i suppose you learned your lesson

Status: offline 		Bless my brother, he used to have to buy his wife hose all the time due to job hour differences and other time consuming things.  He had one girl to ask him if he found everything in the store he needed, he deadpanned looked at her and said well no, he did not.  He prefered the reinenforced crotch pantyhose, but they seemed to be out of them that day.  The cashier turned bright red...lol. 
I say fuck them.  They get paid to do a job and be respectful, next time report the person for that behavoir.

I think overall it was an experience I needed to have.  I always fantasize about humiliation but never really had something publicly done.  I did not enjoy it one bit as she stood there laughing at me.  Looking back I guess it's kind of hot.  But maybe that's just a sign that I like having public humiliation as a fantasy rather than real life?

You made a purchase, which was not necessarily for your use.  Plus, maybe you needed pantyhose so you could come back and rob them later.

Status: offline 		  I have gone out before to major stores like JCPenny, Macy's to buy panties, and other female items for myself. I have never had any clerks act rude or inconsiderate to me. I have even gone with my Mistress to buy ladies bootcut jeans in the womans dept. She would hold them up to me to see how they looked, then had me try them on in the fitting rooms and show her how they looked. Never had a problem , yet!!
