1. i could KILL my dog. she broke thru the door for teh 3rd time.

2. mom called all thinking im coming out. i said dont u rememeber our last phone call? that Ed is an azzhole. she said he has some nice stuff for me. a mans home is his castle. this is my castle- dump- bed- home. if i want 42 trees then so be it. i dont need to be insulted and controlled.

he layed into me over planting trees and not putting in windows and insulation. which- those supplies and labor were coming from him.
if i hired out- then- of course- it will cost 3x the amount then if he did it.

he doesnt want me to eclose my porch. well it IS my house. mine and the banks.

anyhow mom was making all kinds of excuses for Ed- and i said that no- it puts me in a hotel room.

my style is frank loyd wright-= dome homes- off beat. not cookie cutter subdivision.
i am not looking to flip this place. yes - it would be nice to have value to it.

doing up the landscape- whcih looks good.

so- if he does help- he would want to determeine what improvements he would do.

which brings me back to that it is my house- and the banks. he doesnt make the payment- i do.

how can both he and mom both have no memory of this disagreement???

damn- yould think it was a felony to plant a tree!!!

Just cos something is in fashion doesnt mean it is practical.

black marble counter tops. where one can see every spect of dust?   couches that you cant sleep on- and be carful how u sit- as you dont want to wear it unevenly.

rooms- you may as well rope off like a museum- they are for pretty- you just look at them- but dont use them. i thought those days went out with plastic sofa covers.

I am a few months into homeownership.

So far- so good.  The reality has not sunk in yet!  I have this awesome [to me] house. I dont panic on the payments as I can afford them.

I have a ton of insulatation I bought off of Ebay in my carport. I paid- $200.00 that includes delivery. 50 sheets of styrophone- 4x8 x 5-8 inches. They no longer make this type of insulation as it is bad for the ozone layer. I offerred a few sheetz for free to my neighbor Shirley. She is delighted- but is going to think about it.

My brother Ed, has 2 windows for me. He says I need to get out there soon!

As you may know I fought my property tax assessment and won!

THe other day - I recieved an inspiring letter from the state finance department. They stand fully with me- on my 3% seller rebate- that the foreclosure holding company screwed me out of. This amount is $975.00.  I had filed a formal complaint to HUD.
Even if I dont see a penny- I am glad at least the state is on my side. [they have the authority to pull the license of this comany!;at least in the state of Pennsylvania.] As you may recall- at the last minute there was a typo- that was not properly reflective of teh 3%- it was logged as $3.00- as a mistake- and I did not even gett he 3$!!!

Anyhow-- to the posters that said BUY! I dont regret it. This is a new chapter in my life. I can make or not make life to my whims! It is all on me now.

I love to mention  my mortgage is $260.00 a month. [includes tax and insurance] My siblings pay @ 1300.00 a month for their castles.
albiet they are modern, shiek and near the job base- where as no jobs here. and this is a small town- whos hey day went with the 1700s. lol.

I love the thought- that this is MY HOUSE!   MINE!

I am watering my lovely tree- botonical garden. 4 of the neighbors said it looked very nice! One is even copying it. :-)

A mans house is his castle. Now that saying-" he aint got a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of". no longer apllies to me.

Only in America maybe. Only in Pennsylvania maybe.

One sure thing. 6 others wanted this house. I had the where-with-all to score it. Thanks to being educated, persistent, and calling in favors.

I tell people I am here for 10 years- not to get rich. It sooths the situation.

I am glad I chose to stay in Pennsylvania- rather then move to broken down Chicago. Chicago is fun to visit. But this is my home. One day it might even be paid for too!!!

;-)

i discovered a part i did not insulate.

BTW- i noticed only $28 of my payment goes to the principle. 5.5% 30 yr fixed/ -so if i pay extra $28 it would be paid off faster. yet- at the low interest rate it might not be worth it.

just a bit of advice dont go with a home inspector reccomended only by the realtor i got screwed! he passed a bunch of shit  (plumbing and the foundation) that he shouldn't have.in some states any jo blow can get an inspectors license and not have to really back it up.  Now i am left to try to fix things and make them right and it has already cost me a bundle and it is only going up from there.  come to find out he had it in with the sellers realtor. do your research and find a reputable one and ask for references and follow up on them. i truly think they saw single female first time buyer with sucker written all over. oh well at least i know when it is all said and done it will be fixed correctly unlike the previous owners( i mean previous idiots)!

color me impulsive. i just had a bunch of windows delievered. does anyone install windows???

at time i wish i was at the old place. the traffic on the main road is aggravating!!  i did arrive at a conclusion on it tho- i am going to do the porch with trellis to deflect the noise and view into my home.  at ranges in price 8$ to $22 a 4x8 sheet. 4-5 sheets ought to do it.

4 months into owning- i was curious as to my pay off.  $21.19!  thats all i paid????  darned amortiation.  it seems for the 1st 22 yrs- one pays interest- only the last 8 yrs is serious payment on principle.  due to the recording fee my balance barely budged!!!

mind you- when i seen only $28 is going to the princuple- i figured ok- i can spare $30 a month here and there- they have been applying such to the principle as asked.

with so many forces out to sue- grred- and take a persons house....on the one hand ild like to pay it off soooner then 30 yrs.

the city is "taking" 9 properties via "eminant domain"-= the state ranks very low on property rights.

anyhow- $22 i guess is better then renting.

im glads i have NO car payment. this really has me thinking if amortization is this carzy on 5.5% 30 yr fixed- imagine how the credit cards get you!!!!@

Now that I am settled, and had a chance for a long drive....do some thinking. I have mixed  feelings about being here. I would like to be more rural. And maybe have a place paid for in full. I been looking in western PA... but now to sell and then buy- im abit tied down.

I like that I dont need a room mate- and the payment is manageable. I like the quality and view of the place. I dont like the sound of the highway.

So- to put in realistic improvements- knowing this isnt my dream house.... yet- being that I am here it could be the path of least resistence. My neighbors are very good here.

Even tho I got a good deal on the price, due to what moving and closing costs would be- it cuts into the equity.

For last minute housing- I did very well. Ild like acreage- even if it is then a trailor....

help is hard to come by. i founs a guy willing do paint ect- for $5 an hour cash money. so with a bargain like that i cant say no. [what does$5 buy anymore]
he is slow but meticulous. unbelievable how expensive paint is. $22 $30.....  so i went for mistint. that is where it is the wrong shade,... if mix a hodge pod of colors i can get a gray.   he is almost done on the carport- the 1st day i was watching him. 2nd day i wasnt feeling up to par so i let him on his own, but peaked out to see if he was gabbing w the neighbors.  anyhow why am i spending money when i dont know if i want to stay here- tho painting always pays for itself.
