I eat hot sandwiches (and most hot meals) immediately. I put things away with cold meals. As a cook, I learned to put things away, rinse, and wash the items I use, as I am cooking. While the pasta is cooking, I am scrubbing the food processor. When the pasta is finished, I give the bowl a quick rinse (while the pasta is being rinsed) and a wipe down with a sponge and put it away (it's sanitary, considering the water's been boiling in it for a great deal of time.) The busier you are in the kitchen, cleaning, as you cook, the more time you have to relax after you eat. I also rinse dishes as soon as I finish eating, to make the ultimate clean up far less taxing.
