That's really me over there, and I had no idea the pic was being taken.  The suit and limo are completely deceptive though.  I live jeans and work in steel toed boots.

I really look like ... what's that character called from The Adams Family? The hand that came out of the box? I only saw that show a couple of times on re-run... was it simply called "The Thing" or was it "Cousin It" -- that's what I really look like, a hand coming out of a box, this was the closest I could find... The Office Depot hand isn't availabale yet

Ok, so, I changed mine from The Thing (symbolizing my dipping my hand in the water of the forums) to a close up of a pink lily (stargazer I think)... I like close up photos of flowers, love the intricate details... has nothing to do with what I look like.

Because a picture of two elephants fucking conveys more about my personality than a stupid face pic, which would show no more than that I am human.

And I'm not going to show my face pic online anyway.  Sorry.  I have a face; there are people to vouch for that.  But strangers ain't seein' it.  They might do something nasty like notify my secretary or something, and if someone is going to tell her that I want to tie her up and fuck her, I'd rather do the job myself.

Why is it that many people pick avatars that look totally different then they do?

So the rumour that you give great "trunk" is also false?

(Still struggling with the OP accusing others of deception...)

I think for many people that choosing their avatar or making one
is a form of self-expression.  Some are hot and sexy, some are
silly and comic, some are thoughtful, etc.  I do not see using
an avatar that looks nothing like yourself as being deceptive.

I suppose given that my hair is not the exact same style as either of my photos on here, kinda in the middle, and that I am probably inbetween the weight I was in the two photos.........oh hell, I don't care. They are me wether you like them or not.

Well I am sweet and smell like a rose, so there you go.
A rose called by any other name, is still a rose.  :-)

The photos of large flowers bring to mind Georgia O'Keefe's
beautiful full color renditions of the orchids and other flowers.

Thanks for the thread, I decided to add an avatar.
That looks very  similar to my foot on my subbies back.

I went to add an avatar after reading this, LOL.

I chose "Hello Kitty" because I like "Hello Kitty", lol.
The end.

P.S.  Oh and because I couldn't find a avatar of a little bug either....    LOL!

On one hand, I understand and have myself gotten one impression of a person from an avatar, than when finally clicked over, the photos or expressions didn't seem to match.
You of course realize you have beautiful feet and shoes as your avatar suggesting that is what you possess (as Eileen already pointed out)...  Are we to trust the avatar?    M
