I don't care what he thinks about my relationship. That's the whole point. However, if he's going to carry around this mind set that master/slave is the bestest of the best and all others are substandard he's going to run into a lot more trouble in the BDSM world then just me. Better to make him aware of that now.

He's already been checking out Gor.  I've seen him in the threads there long before this.  (And he openly states he is in his journal).

Chalk it up to newness.  I think he's still finding his BDSM legs.  We were all there at one time.

I don't think saying that Ds is "natural" is the same as picking a gendered, aged, or racial or any other combination.

I actually would agree that most people in the world tend to be followers, a few leaders, and some loners. That might be understood as some type of Ds on a daily basis.

While I agree with you on that point, I think it leads too many people to start thinking that ALL relationships are "really Ds" at their core.  And that's no good either.

I think there is a big difference between doing Ds purposely and with a clear decision and just living life.

Life requires that you sometimes follow, sometimes lead, and sometimes go it alone. Some people have opportunities to do more of one role than others, some enjoy one role more than others.

I can follow but I tend to be very demanding when I follow, I ask a lot of questions, I want a plan in place, I do not allow myself to be pushed to the back. Following doesn't feel comfortable to me but it is necessary at times. For others following is very comfortable for them.

This is true. It's probably safe to say that we've all said or done something because of our newness. I think if this had been phrased differently (perhaps as a question asking if others agreed) the responses he would have gotten would have been entirely different.
