Status: offline 		on most of the profiles i see, there is alot of kinky as well as vanilla interests. whenits someone who says they are committed and don't play with others tho,i tend to wonder why they bother

Status: offline 		I agree, but if there are things that you really like or want to try and they have it listed as a hard limit would you still contact them?  If you contact someone who just has vanilla interests down and you spend weeks trying to get to know them only to find out that they hate ass worship and you love it, didn't you just waste weeks of your life you will never get back?

I don't think it's fair to make one wait weeks to find out that stuff...usually if the person seems serious and considerate, I will discuss kinks either after a LONG first conversation. I just have to feel like I'm not being used as wanker material.

Status: offline 		That was a sacrificial ritual...Snow White was tied to the slab spread eagle...with the Prince being the guest of honor...the dwarfs providing the ritual by dancing and chanting.

As my grandmother told me when I first started getting serious about a girl. If you are good in sex it might last an hour...what are you going to do the rest of the time with her.

I must be a god then sexually...only and hour? common, get serious, that is foreplay. As for what I'm going to do with her the rest of the time...I cannot repeat in front of my grandmother. I do agree though that she was right in the sense of if you only have limited common interests then there is not much to base a long-term relationship on. Kink just doesn't do it for me all the time...god I love chocolate verses vanilla, but I grow tired of the same thing if it was only the same thing all the time. Thus I must have vanilla to go along with my chocolate.

Given that I try and incorporate both of those into my profile...and throw in a good dose of philosophic reasoning to go along with it. After all there is more to the lifestyle than just wonderful kinky sex.

Status: offline 		I haven't 'checked myself out' for a while, but I believe I have taken down ALL of my interests.  And I might actually be looking (or not).

What I have found is that some people are very list-conscious, I suppose especially if they are new.  They become overwhelmed by someone with interests in areas they are not ready to explore.

I understand perfectly that I would not do with a person something they weren't emotionally ready for, but they don't know that.  I don't feel the need to intentionally muddy the waters.

Better to stand with a decent profile alone, and try to go from there.

Then again we used the same referance who was a person't who judgement we both trusted implicitly. Yah, that's it it wasn't illogical at all it was all very rational. ;-)

Status: offline 		I ended up changing my first screen name for that reason. It was too blantant and others aren't going to know I'm not one dimentional and take person as they come. Never force your kink on another person (Yes I know there are exceptions). For me one of nice things about being poly is no-one has to meet all my needs/wants. So it your not into it lets go somewhere else your interested in.

Geeky, I think the point Prothus is making is a detailed profile will send away more mismatches than an incomplete one.
 
That said... I will now begin to bombard your e-mail with lies until such a time I have your knees pinned to your ears and can ease you into carpet munching, poly, and then crowds of people.
