You might wanna have some milk replacer on hand, just in case. It isn't that difficult to hand-raise a kitten, if the mom rejects it. (I've done it a couple times with abandoned litters) Get some KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) Just Born. and a few nursing bottles (I say a few, because I've had kittens chew through the nipples). If the baby shows signs of stopping eating, take the job over. They need to get fed, basically, every 2 hours. Which is a pain, but not impossible. If the mom hasn't rejected it totally, just rejected it for feeding, life is easier, as you don't have to keep it warm, otherwise...you can either carry it around inside your shirt (works -very- well) or use a heating pad wrapped in towles to keep it warm. You already know the drill with making sure it poos. I don't quite see this as a survival of the fittest, thing, because this -isn't- a natural enviorment, and cats -aren't- natural animals.(100's of years of domestication will do that to you.) Plus, we have the ability to save 'em, why not do it?
