I find it very irritating to respond to a potential sub, only to have him ask me at great length about my particular kinks, and to express no interest in the other aspects of my personality. Read the profile!!! It says that I am looking for a relationship!

I get the feeling that he just wants to participate in a cheap excuse for cybering, which I don't do anyway.

Situations like this make it very difficult for me to maintain my interest in contacting potential partners.

Lilith

I agree with this one. It's similar to the ones who ask me if I would like to communicate with them who, when I say  that since there is nothing in their profile I can't form an opinion of whether I'd like to communicate with them, say "Ask me anything you want." I used to just think that was a lazy man's way of trying to get out of doing something, but a dom friend I adore from here said it could also be a way of using my questions to tell me what they think I want to hear. Clever, I guess....but pointless, and it doesn't work. I now write and say, "Nope. You tell me what you want me to know."

The same way I can get emotional over words said to my face. They convey meaning. I may give them too much import, but if someone wrote them and I have a reaction to them, that doesn't make me a "clown."

This reply was to me, and since your profile on the other side says that no one should write to you, I'll ask here. Why?

Coldmind probably just hit fast reply, findmedaddy, and you just happened to be the person above him so it appears as though he was responding to you rather than the OP.

Italics by moi.

Ok, so quick question... if you don't like coloured fonts, why did you use colour? Just curious.

Thanks, Celeste. Sorry, azzmaster, I guess that applied to your reply, too.

Two different subjects...One is the boards and another is your  profile...It is extremely easy to get caught up in a conversation out here that you do possess some sort of a stong view on...But even with that said, how mant people actually have the ability to listen to something that directly opposes their own belief system...and then weigh the argument and possibly amend their own thoughts?..In the real world...Few!...Out here even less...So why yell at the wind?  Make your point and move on. Nothing to see here...lol. I always picture the person that doesn't possess the ability to listen or reason as dressed like a clown...Makes it so much easier to walk away, shake your head and say to yourself,  "What in the fuck was I thinking trying to communicate with this idiot in the first place."

When it comes to messages being sent to your profile....If you don't open the message and delete it, it still shows as the message as being unopened to the sender...I can think of a no bigger insult to send to someone...Than that I find you so irrelevant that I won't even ackowledge what you have written and then to "block" that person as well.

Thank you, domiguy, I understand

People who are so negative and like to belittle others calling them names.  Maybe they should stand back and take a good look at themselves first.

The folks who's sole purpose on a message board seems to be to wander around and snark at anyone who is not like them.

Having to preface everything with, "this is only my opinion..."

People who automatically assume other's lives are fake because it doesn't match up with their ideas of how things should be.

I love pet peeve posts and i have been guilty of doing almost every one of them, i am narrowminded at times, judgemetal, jaded, dismissive etc etc etc ....and why...because i am human and there as many sides to me as there are stars in the sky.
My only 'peeve' is hypocrasy........(and yes im guilty of that too but at least i admit it)
BDSM communitites shine out hypocrasy like a blinding light..both online and real life.
Will it ever change?....no way....not as long as its humans practising bdsm and not robots........so it makes us cross and annoyed but you got to love it.
Even after 10 years (oh im so experienced lol) i still enjoy rubbing people up the wrong way, still get pissed off when someone judges me (even tho i do it right back lol) and im still here......i do believe variety is the spice of life and if i have to wade through 3 months of shitty arguments and flaming posts to get to that 25 minutes of thought provoking discussion im gonna do it.

I  hate the bait game. I've become an expert, sadly, on recognizing this. It starts out with messages of interest from one who seems to fit the mold possibly of what you are looking for. Once they get you to chat, they really don't want to seem to get to know you at all but rather try directing the conversation to cybering. In my experience, since my profile states I am only looking for women, it usually ends up being some idiot horny male using a female identity, I've even known of a few instances where they will use pictures of their wives or girlfriends. Just about as welcome to me as a friendly hemorrhoid and twice as irritating!

I also hate when pple message me a close up shot of their genitals (in reference to a few other sites I have been a member of). I am not looking to get to know your genitals. I've got some myself and what I don't have I can drive 2 miles down the highway to the closest porn shop and purchase, no strings attached, or other body parts for that matter! Unless your genitals are grossly fascinatingly disfigured, decoratively branded, or otherwise tattooed, I am not likely to be impressed. I'd be way more impressed if they would just crack open their skullpans and send me a close up of their grey matter since there doesn't seem to be enough creativity there to do it any other way.

O.k....enough of my little ranty rant.

Luci

Well, there are many irritants in the online bdsm community...but "most irritating?" Honestly...threads like this one which go on for pages and pages and accomplish nothing. Well, almost nothing. I guess it can be helpful to have a forum in which to vent one's irritation. But honestly, most of what irritates ppl is just the fact of everyday life here. Ie, overly anxious "subs" looking for cyber-relief...overly anxious "Masters" looking for cyber-relief...overly anxious "(fill-in-the-blank)" looking for cyber-relief...You get what I'm saying? It's the anonimity of the internet that allows for those irritating behaviors we experience over and over. It's really just par for the course.

........not trying to speak for most people, just speaking for myself in correlation to a thread that  I don't find irritating, getting my cyber-relief where it is cyber-welcome...........for instance; posting what irritates you about online bdsm communities in a thread whose subject is 'What do yo find most irritating in the "Online BDSM Community".............

But I did just think of another irritation ..........those who gain self importance by criticizing through summation without really having a point or anything in particular to say..............

Ok............I am done overstating what should have been painfully obvious in the first place!

xoxo,
Luci

Right now, my pet peeve is getting snubbed in a particular forum for no obvious reason ( not this forum)

I mean... message boards are cliqueish to begin with. I get that, I really do. But when somebody is at LEAST making an attempt to be as courteous as she can be, or is sincere in her wanting to learn about something.. then PLEASE return the favor and at least reply, yanno?

It seems that those that are "known" somehow are given SO much more leeway then a new person. I guess it's just A-OK for a known member of a community to post any old way. When a newbie does her best to be respectful, she's persona non grata, I guess.

Oh, unless, of course.. a newbie obviously wants to start a ruckus. Then she would receive plenty of responses, I'm sure.

It's ridiculous and rather pathetic.
