It's a nice idea, but for reasons already mentioned, I doubt it would work out in real life without a substantial loss on the initial investment and running costs.

How about a kennelling service for subs/slaves/bottoms/whathaveyou while their owners cannot attend to them personally?

I actually think it's a great idea for people who are novices and want to learn, but I think at $1000.00/person, you'd be eliminating novices like me immediately...

I'm frankly surprised Taggard hasn't heard of them since he's in NY. SoulHuntre, SirC and Flagg are all out and about in the NYC scene frequently and I share some yahoo groups with them (they are also on AOL).

Definitely contact them if you're interested in getting a training house together.

No, but you've mentioned being out and about in the NYC scene regularly, and they are out and about in the NYC scene regularly and have been for awhile.

The scene really isn't that big in the long run.

When I visited their site, it actually said that they were at Paddle the same night I was. I wouldn't know what they looked like, so I am not sure if they were or not...

I get to visit NYC once a month, if I am lucky. I am much more active in my local scene.

You see Emerald you have plainly missed out on the BDSM-dance scene. trust me, Flagg would wouldn't go even if he had a gun to his head. This goofy scene is sort of like the goreans except the doms wear tutus. It seems to be localized around Rochester NY. Rochester calls it the local flavor, the rest of the world calls it "containing a disease".

If you were in this scene then you would realize empathy, apptitude, and vision are secondary to ego, hubris, and accomplishment at the tango. This is the only way a relative newbie from a very isolated BDSM community can come out and demand 4 times as much money to teach you what the estate or Shadowfind or Mistress Midori could teach you better.

What really scary is that talldorkandwhacky(taggart) is the one who claims to screen OUT the HNGs...terrifying.

We have a similiar facility in Arizona. Butchmanns, a training facility in Tuscon who occasionally has training weekends up in Phoenix at the APEX facility. The cost for a weekend is about 100-200 dollars (I think) so I think you may be overshooting on what you want to charge for your training. But then, supply and demand. Maybe there are people willing to pay that much in your area. If so, great! More power to you...

Logistics: Insurance? Waiver forms? Trained medical personnel on hand? Dining facilities? Food, water, restrooms (with and without toilet seats..heh), medical supplies. Also identifying those with medical conditions with an arm band or some other marking would be a good idea.

Philosophy is great. I would think that you may need to establish a "Standard" protocol for the weekend. Example: Whenever a dominant enters the room, the submissives will assume a certain posture...will ask permission to speak from any dominant they wish to speak to..."Sir" or "Ma'am" will be used when referring to any Dominant...a Dominant will not touch someone elses submissive without express permission of that sub's Dominant..etc. I understand that everyone lives according to their own internal protocols, but in a training scenario as you are proposing, I think a Standard, default protocol which applies to everyone (just for that weekend) would be helpful.

The price issue was one of the maor reasons I posted this for comments. When I was asked previously how much I would charge for an hour long scene, I gave a ridiculously low number (according to the pros on this board)...I was told that $400 an hour would be about right. If $400 an hour was right, I ust extrapolated that into $1000 a weekend.

I think that a sub would get at least 8 hours of training during the weekend, making $1000 rather cheap...but there must be some new math going on here that I do not understand.

Theres a huge difference between people paying for a SCENE, in which you spend all your energy on making them happy and have a lovely memorable intense experience.

And people paying for WORK, to learn skills and go through a tough experience.

People are always willing to pay more for entertainment and fun.

Hmmm...maybe that's where I am confused. When I scene, I certainly don't expend all my energy making them happy. A lot of the time, I spend my energy correcting tiny little mistakes and sitting back and enjoying the service of a lovely slave.

I think, for those into service and being served, there may not be all that much difference in work and play. How much such slaves are willing to pay for the privilegde, on the other hand, is a good question, and one in which I have recieved a lot of good feedback.

For me I just see a large different in fulfillment from cleaning out the Owners car are tying up the boyfriend. Sure both are nice, both are "in the scene" and both make me happy in the end.

But it's a very different experience and I'd consider one for fun and one for work.

This is very interesting to me...and very much something I want to explore.

Let's say you didn't have an Owner, and were in a life situation where having an Owner was not possible. Would you still crave to do the "work" things? Would you see them as more play if you couldn't (or didn't have to) do them every day?

In our last contract, I had my slave do my ironing, something she hates doing. Yet, in the end, it was one of the best parts for both of us... If that was notpossible for those who really crave it, would it be worth paying for?

I think what I am looking at is treating Servce top and bottoms much like Sadomasochistic tops and bottoms. No one really has done that before...and I wonder if it would work.

That kind of begs the question, "Are there that many service bottoms out there unable to make a good connection?". I think we can agree there is a huge surplus of romance-motivated bottoms and sensation-motivated bottoms running around unfulfilled. My personal opinion is that the number of unattached female service-motivated bottoms is miniscule.

domtimothy46176 made an inportant point. i and many other subs could not imagine being domestic servants, cleaning somones house, making them food, and for free, no thank you werry much. But some like this, but like all rare comodities, they are picked up rather quikly.

Also, if i now was interested in service, for the price indicated, i could go and for example learn to cook from a poreffesional cheff. What do your establishment have Taggard that would give me thewant to pay you that much. Now i shall admitt, i have never gone to a proffesinal Dominat, i do not need to, for a female sub it is not that hard to find a Dominant willing to play.
