I love accents, even if i don't have one myself as im a well spoken Englishman. But accents are important as by listening to an accent, you can then identify where that person who is speaking comes from in the world. So people should hold their heads up high, and be very proud of your accent as everyone is unique in their own individual way.

Ones i particulary like are Southern American and French,im not so keen on Polish as i hear this enough at work lol.I like Scottish accents aswell as Irish accents, and geordie accents come to that to i just love.I love dutch accents but just deteste German accents,as it's a very harsh language in my opinion.Thank god we won WW2 otherwise we'd all be speaking German heaven forbid lol.

I've been accused of having a Midwestern drawl, but I'm not so sure... I certainly don't notice it.  [;)]

I admit to having a weakness for some English accents.  Of course, not all... I prefer something closer to Landun or Estuary rather than Brummie or Black Country.

FirmhandKY has a beautiful southern lilt... not terribly prounouced but just enough to make me weak in the knees.  [:D]

NG, of course you are right - the cricket was a draw . the aussies won the holy grail series and the English won the Dan Brown Da Vinci Code series [:D]

If you are speaking spanish then the cubans have it hands down...it is like candy for my ears.
If you are speaking english then it has to be Georgia...sweet as honey and slow like sex in the afternoon.
If you are speaking french then langue duc and you could be reading me the phone book it would not matter you would have my undivided attention.
If you are speaking japanese then the soft clear conscise Tokyo accent makes me want to listen to every word.
If you are speaking californian then it is valley girl ... like for sure.

I have no idea what my accent sounds like, lol, thats because i just don't hear it lol because everyone sounds the same. I am from the same town as Johnny Vegas, and if you haven't heard of him he is easy to find lol. My claim to fame JV lived in St Helens.

We all have accents.

I am from Southern California where movies and TV is filmed.  So I tend to sound like what you hear on TV.

On the other hand, to irritate people I occaisionally lapse into surfer drawl.

I too have a slight Ohio accent.  Living out west here I've picked up a slight "drawl". I now can really hear what my regions accent sounds like.  We sound like defuses :)
