I finally received an angry email of sorts from another member here.  However, the email was not just some random person telling me my profile sucked or in response to an email I sent out.  I received this email because I viewed someone’s profile.  And why did I view their profile?  Because of their post in the forums, and my wanting to know more about the person who created the post.

So I’m wondering, am I the first?  Or has this been a common occurs from the new “Who’s Viewing Me” feature?

I *HOPE* this is not common.

My goodness, why are we here if not to AT LEAST talk to and share our experiences with each other?  Looking at a profile does NOT mean any more than someone is curious about what you're about.  Being for meeting, or just because of something you casually said in chat or on the boards.

Well, I have yet to receive hate mail, and quite the contrary, the view me feature has put me back in touch with a couple of people.

It never happened to me [ yet ] . Why would they be mad, it is the internet, they are putting public information out for all too see. They need to toss the computer out in the garbage and go back into the closet, if they do not want to be viewed.

It's not common yet, but the "who's viewed me" function is fun for the egos needing to see they've been viewed, and not fun for the paranoid.    Oh well, can't win them all...   M

How stupid.  It sounds like that person has an obsession.  Don't worry about it.

Damn~if someone doesn't want to be viewed.. they can deactivate their profile!  I'd ignore the email.  If they are that paranoid they shouldn't be here.
 
If I view a profile, it's probably because they viewed mine.
 
I also view profiles before I post a response to someone's comments on a thread.  I temper my comment according to the attitude of their profile and their age.

This is my first hate mail so I’m actually pretty excited.  I'm glad he stated I should be looking at women's profiles in his email or I might not have figured out why a male submissive was writing me to call me names. 

So far sound like I'm the first, can I get some sort of title or sig line out of this [:D]

the feature appeared NEW this week sometime.

I unashamedly use the favorites list to keep track of profiles I might want to get in contact with later.  While I've gotten some messages about it, I've never received hatemail from it.  I can't see how the who's viewing function could lead to the same; I suspect it's an isolated incident.

No hate mail from the who's viewing me..... knock on wood so far. LOL   When I do view someones profile its usually because I have enjoyed a forum they have writen so I send them a note something like this...   
 
   "  ~smiles~ and Greetings, Just a quick note........I perved your profile because I enjoy your writings on the forums.  Hope that you find that in which you seek.  Back off to go read some more. "

     I must be showing up on a lot of lists, because I click over to see who a person is from the forums all the time.  I hope it doesn't show multiple views, because one poster's wouldn't come up until my fourth attempt (she'll think I AM stalking her, LOL).

    No hate mail over that yet, probably just a matter of time though.

I have never gotten any hate mail (I am proud/sorry to say) but I have gotten a couple from the spelling police ;)

I've gotten one "hate mail" from a sub that I had put on my "favorites" (I consider it just a bookmarking function, really).  She immediately wrote me a "screw you, what gives you right to put ME on your list!? Now you are BLOCKED!"  She said some other things as well, but I wouldn't post them.

Treasure and I had a good laugh about it.

If she had simply asked me to remove her, it wouldn't have been a big deal.  She tried to make it a big deal.  No interpersonal skills, seems like.

There was a sub (claimed to be, anyway) who had a website where she lampooned doms who wrote her, and made it her policy that no one could put her on their "favorites" list without first writing her and asking permission.

Pretty creepy stuff.  It's MY damn "favorites" list, and I'll put anyone I want on it, for any reason, or no good reason.  [:)]

Same concept for the "Viewed".  I'll look at whoever I want, whenever I wish.  Ya don't want anyone to see your profile?  Turn it off.

I think people who get upset at being viewed, or being put on a bookmarking list have either mental or emotional issues that they should deal with before they start looking for a partner.

I think some folks feel like they've an expectation of privacy here on the ole internet. It's easy to forget that once you make yourself available, you are available to everyone. Not just those you would want to be available to.
If you type it, post it etc it is out for anyone to access it.
