Too true. Why have a profile if you don't want people to view it. If you're looking for somebody that is the bait. Anyone who has a problem with people who read their public profile need some serious help. Not even psychological help, help with logic and reasoning.
If you think I am totally nucking futs after reading my profile fine. If it turns you on, contact me, if it turns you off leave me alone. That's how that works.
I really do try to see both sides of an issue, but I am having trouble with this one. To take offense at someone viewing a profile that you yourself put up there for the world to see is pretty off the wall.
What is not in my profile is not there for a reason. I know there is more there than most people put in, but there is still alot more to me. For one I am a borderline sociopath. I have been doing what I want whenever I want since I was 12. Nobody could ever control me, Parents, cops, nobody. Of course I got into trouble a few times, but now I know better. For one, don't do stupid shit unless you have a good reason, and two, if you really have to, don't get caught.
Would you put that in a profile ? Hell no. Actually what I am saying is that you have control over what is in that profile. You can have no opinion on every question if you like. I don't think that would be productive though. At least let people know what you like.
I think I'll adopt the color if someone chides me for viewing their profile as I do when I run into someone incredibly ignorant in real life. My response is generally "It takes all kinds, and apparently we got em".
Someone actually got on your case for reading their profile ? We got em.
This is really sweet. They get miffed because you viewed their profile, then what do they do ? Do they view your's commiting the same mortal sin ? Or do they mail you something nasty without looking first ?
You remember the asshole in the SUV who had to punch it to get ahead of you on the freeway only to have to slow down the whole lane to get back into the lane he needed to be in ? Remember the ditzy one who would have been run off the road if you hadn't consiously moved to let them on ? Something which you are under no obligation to do I might add, you just did it to avoid being in a 26 car pileup. ?
Well the reality of it is that some of those people are going to leak into here from time to time. As much as the moderators try, they can't be perfect. Perhaps people convicted of sheer stupidity on the net should be forced to a new email domain, for example fred (at) iamanasshole(dot)net
It's the same concept as the yellow plates for convicted drunk drivers, or, Jeff Foxworthy's idea "Here's your sign".
That's not to say they shouldn't be allowed in. You can have alot of fun with stupid people, I just hope everyone tries to be nice. Don't scare them away. (lol) On the other hand if they are fred(at)iamREALLYanasshole(dot)net perhaps their application needs serious review.
Enjoy my ramblings, and wish me long life. I am the only MF I know who on a job application when it asks "ever been arrested ?" and I put yes, and then it asks "Why ?" I put "Got caught, what are you stupid or something ?". And then get the job !
Actually I almost hope to get hate mail from somebody for looking at their profile. I won't take offense, I'll think about it and respond. I'll show them what a real brain can do. I am not afraid.
