This is gonna sound stupid but damn, I'm so sick of losing my remote to my tv, my keys and my pocketbook...I don't know what I am thinking but I just found the remote in the bathroom, my pocketbook in my pantry in my kitchen and my keys on my bedroom floor! I am not the most organized person in the world but I have trouble with short-term memory...any advice on how I can become more organized person?

Well, I'm a creature of habit.  I try to keep things in the same place, all the time.  I have my keys on a chain, hooked to my jeans.  Sounds silly, but I've never lost them that way.  I keep my wallet on the inside pocket of my jacket, or in my back pocket.  I check the jacket first, then yesterdays pants if I can't find it.  The remote never gets lost, if I pick it up, use it, and immediately put it down.  If I never 'hang onto' it, I never lose it.  I'd put a strong on the thing, if I had to.

Routine is the key here, though.  Keeping things in the same place, all the time, every time, makes it very unlikely to lose them.  When in doubt, tie it down.

Stephan

The key to organization is finding a place for everything...then making a real effort to put things in their place.

Get someone to organise your life for you, thats what i've done.

Today i was bought a diary and calendar so i should know what i'm doing providing i remember to write it down and look at them lol.
Also i was bought proper coffee which im supposed to drink when i get up to give me a boost to get on with what im supposed to do.
And lastly a few books so when i get pissed off with everyone i can go chill and read.

For idiotic advise you have come to the right place.

I put everything important on the diningroom table when I walk in the door......handbag with keys in it and mail. Everything else I touch is fair game to be lost. (I still have no idea where that weird little vibrating rabbit thing is at)

The tv remote is easy for me, I rarely touch it so it's usually in the same place. Books, coffee cups, on the other hand, never know where you will find them. I am also really good at misplacing my cell phone at home. And somewhere in that house is a really expensive pair of black leather gloves that I put someplace special so that I would not lose them........

It's goofy but I use velcro tabs. If I set my cell down, it goes to a velcro tab, 1 tab per room. Handy for remembering to recharge it too!
My remote has 3 different possible tabs depending on where I sit lol.
My wallet doesn't actually leave my purse.
Other stuff I have designated baskets for them only, like bills/magazines n the like. If I only keep like stuff with like stuff it is a lot less harder to lose. Baskets are my friends  .
Super important stuff I let my dom know because I stash stuff & never see it again otherwise!

I like the velcro tab idea I found a metal wire "letter holder" that I hooked to the wall a few ago- that helps . I am slowly getting organized.

I swear I made my kids wear velcro shoes for many years because I was too frustrated trying to teach them to tie their shoes!

I have places for everything and conditioned my mind to put them there always.
My keys hang up as I enter the door.
Cell phone has a little cubby hole on the kitchen counter; with charger.
Don't do purses, but my wallet is placed by my bed.
The trick is to look at your entry and see if you can fit places to put all your stuff imeadiately upon entry.
Love velcro too...Haven't had a pair of sneakers without it in years.

Wow, y'all are impressive. I cannot imagine taking the time to think of some of these things let alone do them!

I need someone to organize my world and keep it that way.

at the entry to my very tiny apartment that eats things..

I put up a bulletin board and thumbtacked some little baskets and hooks. everything stops there. purse gets hung on a hook, mail goes into a basket, etc. repetition is key

I am trying to imagine the heavy duty thumbtack that would hold my bag to a bulletin board.

I have an egyptian bowl next to my front door, everything goes in there, from wallet
to keys to ...everything really.

My TV remote is in my chair pocket.

The only thing I lose daily is my sanity and my patience for bad drivers and stupid people.
