I make a note of really mentally emblazoning on my mind where I have put somethng when i put it down, otherwise I know I will forget.
Put things in the same place all the time, as you know you will return there when you need to find that thing again.
if you have a place for everything then your troubles should get resolved (fingers crossed!)

mental emblazonment is equivalent to scratching it in water, for this mind.

my question is..I have this Tommy pocketbook that is very small...how can I possibly lose stuff in it???? I swear to God I sat there infront of my room mate looking for something in my bag and searched over ten times and didn't find it, he looked once and said "here it is"....it's like the socks that disappear in the washer and dryer..what happens to shit in there?

I am also really good at misplacing my cell phone at home

I was sitting in my car talking on my cell to my best friend.  I was fumbling around looking and searching, fussing and cussing.  She finally says, WHAT are you looking for?  I said, my cell phone!!  She starts giggling and says, ummmm, you're talking to me on it!

So in this case, I hadn't lost my cell phone but I had lost my mind!

well, cjenny beat me to it....i stuck velcro on the back of my remotes, then put a strip on the headboard......now i just have to remember to put them ON the strips of velcro!  My keys go next to my purse, which sits on the sofa.  As for anything else....well, I've lost count of the number of times I've had to call my cell just to find it! And everytime I try to clean up my act, and house, I lose everything.....damn CRS!

Good luck!

Remote - in nylon a remote caddy that's draped over the arm of my chair - purchased at Ikea.

Keys - inside pocket of my purse always, except when I'm using them.

Wallet - in my purse always, except when I'm paying for something.

Purse - at work, under my desk.  At home, on the side of my kitchen table.  At home if company is over, on my desk.  (Gee, now you know where my purse is and where my keys and wallet are so you can easily rob me)

Mail - An iron & canvas basket (also purchased at Ikea) that I drop my mail into when I come in the door, and sort at my desk later.

Cell phone - phone & blue tooth ear piece are plugged into their charger when I get home.  When not home, in a case in my purse.

Having a purse with different compartments helps me organize, rather than a big bottomless bag that I would have to dig through every time I was looking for something.

Good luck!!

Keys - get a double keyed deadbolt lock. It takes a key to open it from the inside. When you lock the door behind you, there are your keys, waiting for you to return. (Only really works for singles though.)

You can get a locator, which looks like a remote, and has four coloured buttons corresponding to four finder boxes you attach to your TV remote, cell phone, submissive(s), etc. Press a button and the finder box alerts you to the location of the device you have misplaced!

Problem is, what happens when you misplace the locator?

Stay tuned for more half assed solutions.

I keep all those things in the same pocket on the side of my purse. I keep my purse everywhere I go.

I was at the park with my wife and another mom and child once. The kids (both toddlers) were off playing, and at one point the other toddler came back and was talking to his mom. My wife scanned the park and looked rather nervous, "Where's our daughter?" I ahemed and pointed to my wife's chest ... she was nursing!

I can't seem to remember anything anymore either, so I hear you. I use Post-It notes, and they are in many spots in my house, it seems. On them I write myself little reminders about I am supposed to do, and where things are, etc.

I also make lists of things I am supposed to remember to do, or to buy, (or where thin gs are) and put them right in front of the front door, so I have to trip on them before I leave the house.

I also put them in the front of my wallet in my purse. That way, when ever I am paying for something at a store, I have to look at my "to-do", or "to buy" list (or my list of where stuff is), in case I have forgotten anything.

Hope this helps.
