inkedfreak2007 -> what is enough to warrant reporting a message? (3/5/2007 10:28:48 PM)

How rude does a Domme have to be before I should report her message?  I politely responded that she frightened me and was too far away, then she emailed me back and demanded I send her my im addy and get on webcam for her.  I said, No thank you again, that she scared me, and then she emailed me back and said as a servant it is not my job to think but to do, and to do it now.  I think that is downright out of line, and emailed back a little less politely, that No, I am not her servant, and to go order someone who wants her orders.  I blocked her, too, but was not sure if that level of persistance should be reported, or just blocked and forgotten??

Who would you report her to, the Better Bondage Bureau?  Just ignore, block and move on.

I am obviously new to this site, and it says on the options, report this message,  so I thought it might be expected that if someone was blatenly rude to you, someone might track these things, so that if enough complaints occured, sanctions might be inforced.  I guess I was wrong, and will make sure not to post any further questions.  I don't have thick enough skin to be made fun of for trying to do the responsilbe thing.

IMO Some people will unfortunately be as rude as you are willing to accept. A level of persistance online in this case can only be open to your invitation to continue.
You have noted that you have blocked further email contact after the third corrospondence. Personally, I prefer to block the first punch.( As soon as she "Demanded" your outside contact info.)
Edited for additions:

Inkedfreak,
It is less than likely that CM will take action or sanction due to email contact rudeness of this caliber. However you can let CM decide if you want. The Report  function is primarily for profiles and messages that do not fall within CM guidelines; scams, and illegal activities. there is quite a bit of useful info on these boards, and many willing to kindly help. This is the internet, and make no mistake. Your going to need to bring more than a grain of salt to the table at times. Welcome to the boards BTY.

Do you really want TPTB to have to be the Politeness Police?  Do you really need their intervention over such a trivial matter?  It's not as though you were being stalked or assaulted.  Someone sent you mail you didn't like.  People only have the power over you that you give them, and right now you're giving her far more power than she deserves.  You've already blocked her, just ignore it and put it behind you.

I would suggest that in the future you block someone after the first unsavoury contact rather than engaging in further email communication with them.

You mention that you are new and appeared to take offense at a previous reply to you - do you feel ready to enter this minefield that is the internet? It isn't all sweet talk and compliments. It can also be easy to misinterpret what people are saying as their humour, personality etc do not always easily transfer into written words on a screen. Take a deep breath and continue posting to the threads - I guarantee that before long you will be hooked!

If you are scared by on-line demands from a stranger you may not be ready navigate the real world of meeting people.  People are rude, that is part of life.  You don't have to respond to them.

BeautifulRacket -> RE: what is enough to warrant reporting a message? (3/6/2007 1:49:28 AM)

If you click the Report button, a list of reasons will come up on the next page before it actually submits the report. You must then specify which category it falls under and decide to submit it or not. I tell you this so you might get a better idea of what CM considers problematic for the future.

I've reported one member who baited me into a conversation with seeming innocent/curious questions, then revealed themselves to be a raving "my way is the ONLY way" lunatic and said that my femdom and poly ways made them sick and that they'd seen my picture and if they ever saw me on the street, I'd better watch my back (they said they were local). I wasn't scared, but I definitely took that as a threat, especially since they initiated the conversation just to bait/harass me. Anyway, I don't know what CM did about it, but it seemed like something they might want to be aware of.

Along with scams and such, that's the kind of thing I'd report. Rudeness and irritation are blocked quickly, rather than consuming the staff's time with reports (something I like to consider on free sites especially).

Thanks for your response.  I just wanted to say that having now posted my first message on any board ever, I think Iwill wait a while before posting again.  If I do post again, I will wait a little longer before I respond to other posts that hurt my feelings, too.  I am new, but have met a lot of really nice people in this lifestyle who have made me feel safe and given me great advice.  I was  very nervous about asking the question to begin with, so such a negative sounding response right off the bat shook my confidence a bit.  I will take your advies, and not give up on message boards completely, thanks again.

Hit the Big Block and Ignore buttons. Unless they threaten you. If they threaten you then report them to collarme.

Aileen68 -> RE: what is enough to warrant reporting a message? (3/6/2007 6:20:27 AM)

You really do need to get thicker skin and I say that in a nice way.
The report button is there for things such as threats, and scams, not rudeness.
The Mods have enough to do as it is without worrying about politeness.
You have the power to control your happiness...it's called the block button and the power button of your computer.

Sheesh, you are behaving like a 6 year old.  Is this your attempt to get us to beg you to stay?

Aileen68 -> RE: what is enough to warrant reporting a message? (3/6/2007 6:31:51 AM)

Should this go in the whiney thread?
Whaaaaa....someone sent me a rude email.

angelic -> RE: what is enough to warrant reporting a message? (3/6/2007 6:42:50 AM)

Sometimes you have to find thicker skin... not only when you post a thread (not all are warm and fuzzy folks) and when you receive e-mail.  Do not let the responses to this thread 'scare' you from asking other questions.

You're being rude, and I'm going to report you!

The principle will give you detention for that!

Block her and move on, if she creates another profile to harass you then report her harrassment.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: what is enough to warrant reporting a message? (3/6/2007 7:32:41 AM)

Unless she's threatening bodily harm or showing stalking behavior or harrassment, there's little more you can do than block/ignore/delete (BID). There's lots of people on this site. Simply look for those who match you better. You don't have to do what everyone tells you to do.

Who would you complain to, Besides it sounds like a "wannabe" or someone with a huge ego.
Block them and move forward  I agree.
