I know this is elementary, and am almost ashamed to ask, but hey I've revealed worse things about me here than lack of BDSM knowledge, so here goes...

How do you keep a Butt Plug in place? I've used the small and the medium (at different times, not currently), but they get squeezed out by the sissy wimps (just kidding) I've used them on after they whine a little that it hurts (yes I lube them). So, is there a method besides duct tape to keep it in place for periods of time (when the sub is not actually sitting on it)? M

Well.. only from my own personal experience... there has to be a narrow part for the muscle to close down around that is substantially smaller than the rest of the insertable part of the plug.. I don't see how anyone can keep the small ones in. I like the large or the huge for being able to retain it during normal day living.

and... What pain?? It feels good going in 99% of the time!

Tell him to keep it in....or else (of course, then you need to follow through with the "or else"). It's a matter of muscle control, for the most part - gotta keep the sphincter squeezed tight enough around the "neck" part of the plug.

i'm going to have to go with Tangwystal on this one - the small size is *not* gonna stay in place on it's own. (Well, i suppose it's not impossible, i'm just speaking from my own personal experience.)

Try working up to a larger size (slowly, of course!) and see if that doesn't help.

I found a small size jelly one that is shaped like a christmas tree (with a rounder bottom though) that will stay in most of the time. The ass muscles close around the narrow stem part to help hold it in and the fact that it is jelly material seems to help suction it in. You have to twist it and break the suction to remove it. For larger butt plugs I would suggest some sort of harness that can be worn. I know I have seem them for sleeping.

I found the jelly butt plug in Naughty and Nice but threw out the wrapper when I moved. I will look for the brand name when I go there next weekend and let You know. Mine says it is extremely comfortable to wear.

What's wrong with duct tape?!? I've used it when I was feeling especially pissy (especially on hairy asses).

But you can always make a rope harness that will hold a plug in. Let me know if you need some instruction, but it's pretty straight foward and you can probably find pictured instructions on the web. Rope harnesses can be worn under clothes, as well.

We have the Jelly Plugs(I like them) in all the toy shops here.
Usually they are in a plastic sealed bag, with no name or info,
in bins...so to speak...wish I could help more, I'm sure you could
find them on some xxx toy sites on-line.

Thanks Brightspot, I'll do online search for jelly plugs; I was wondering if there was a specific brand that worked especially well, but will look at all.

Or you could be boring and just have him wear a bit tight underwear. Now if he thinks a smal or medium one hurt, i suspect a big one might be streching it a bit far, no pun intended.

The base should have enough of a size difference to keep in during regular moving. If you're wearing it during the day, I find just having underwear on keeps it in fine.

If you're wearing it during play or naked while bending over and stuff, it might be better to have a waist strap (they make them at various toy stores) to hold it in place.

My general advice is, when starting out, not to wear it more than 3 hours at a time. The lubricant does wear off which could cause bruising and tissue damage and the soreness gets very bad after awhile.

Hell yeah it's ok. Be aware, though, the duct tape will leave adhesive on the skin (usually) and if you leave it on too long it might irritate; just depends on the bottom's skin. Truth is, it's not a good idea to leave plugs in for more than a few hours anyway.

Here's a link to a body harness and there's pics. Just do a web search for "rope harness" or "bondage harness" and you'll get lots of information. http://www.westom.com/leather/ropeman/harness.htm

This one is the entire body and you certainly don't have to do that if you don't want. You can do something that's just around the waist and then around the crotch. Put a couple of knots where the plug sits to keep the rope in place rather than it sliding around the bottom of the plug during movement. It'll also add a bit of bulk right there to help them keep their mind on it. You can do a simple waist harness with JUST knots in the crotch (no butt plug) and that can keep them on their toes too. Position the knots on the anus or on the 'taint' (tain't your ass and it tain't your balls - it's the spot in between

) can be rather stimulating, too.

Overly large diameter rope won't work under clothes well, too small and it will pinch and bind. Use something that's about the diameter of your little or ring finger.

The size difference is only significant in Medium and Large ones, the small ones are kind of useless I guess, unless one makes a serious effort of holding it in.
Thanks for the approximate time I should leave in... I didn't really know that either (a few hours or all day safety issue).

Try making them wear a womans panty girdle. It will slide in and out a bit, while walking for example. Many get the thrill of wearing the womens underware, in a "granny" fashion under an everyday suit ..;-) And everytime they sit they get a full on back in. It will only slip in and out a little while walking, if the girdle is tight.

Just a thought..

The problem with duct tape is that not all is created the same. Some of it is very strong. It will remove patches of skin with the hair sometimes. It also can leave a very nasty sticky residue. I don't have it as part of my bastion of toys due to that. I prefer things that do not stick to skin when I want to rip out hair.

Remember, she is an experienced wearer. She can leave it in for three hours without re lubing, but someone else may need it lubed every hour or so. The reason for this is that the body does break down and absorb the lube. You also want to work up to the person wearing the plug for multiple hours. Once they are to the point of keeping it in more than a couple of hours, maybe have them wear it to work. Appoint them a time every hour (say 8 mins after) that they are to go to the bathroom and re lube. After relubing, tell them to return to their desk and either leave you an email or voice message thanking you for the opportunity to show their devotion to you. Once time has come to remove the plug, have them clean it (carry some good cleaner with them) and keep it in their pocket or briefcase the rest of the day. They'll be VERY self conscious with a butt plug in their pocket. *nasty grin* It leaves a lump and they are sure everyone can tell what it is. LOL.
