While I personally prefer an older Dominant, I do not base my decision solely on age. However, I could not see myself with a Dominant younger than myself for at least one reason, that being that I am only 19. A good friend of mine, though, is 30 with a 23 year old Dominant. So it does happen.

No cause i prefer older dommes,or people around my own age.As these youngsters just do nothing for me,and alot of them lack experience.Which helps when dominating someone some knowledge,experience of your craft.Me seeing a younger Domme NO WAY HUSAY.But a nice question nonetheless.

Same for me, too much younger and I start feeling like "Mommy" and it icks me out. I know it's a double standard cause I have no problem with having a "Daddy" but that's how I'm wired [:o]

I would possibly by 10 years..any more and then it would just be too squickey IMO..but the big thing to me would be  our compatability on more than one level..that to me is a bigger factor than age...Tempting

My Daddy is 6 years younger than I am.  While I've technically been on the planet longer, he's had enough life experience that it balances out quite well.

While I wouldn't completely disregard a potential Dom due to his being younger than me, usually I wouldn't submit to someone younger. I have enough issues with "men" my own age and older being mature enough and educated enough to challenge and inspire passion in me. However, if it was the right man for me, I wouldn't throw him aside due to age. I'm just more likely not to initiate contact with someone younger. Part of it too, I think, is the image of a more experienced man than myself, it adds a bit more daddy-esque aspect to it.

 I could if they were in their 40, but anyone below 40 just makes me feel like i am a mother hen.  I absoutly refuse to date anyone in their 20 as my sons are in their mid 20's.  I would feel like their mom, I'm sorry that is just how i feel.  I have heard that the trend is for the older woman to date the younger guy now.  I just prefer men my age or older, maybe 5 -7 years younger.

i personally wouldn't want a younger Dom just because some have a lack of experience and don't know how to Dom. My Dom is older and i'm ok with it, ok so i love it.

For whatever reason, I have always been  involved with younger men.....I definitely don't act my age!  I prefer the younger men, and if we were compatible, age really doesn't matter to me.  It's just a number.....since I'm a relative newbie anyway, even the younger men have more experience than I do.  I think commonality is far more important between 2 people, vanilla or not.

hmmm... i honestly don't think so. i have a *thing* for older men... when i was seeking, i sought an experienced Master. Plus i love to be Daddy's little girl, as well as His slave girl.
 
Infact, though age perhaps shouldn't matter, to me it kinda does... i didn't even really want anyone close to my age... there's just something magical about a Man round the 50's age mark for me... call it a kink i have [;)]

The last time i was interested in a man older than myself was when i was in my 20s and 30s, now i prefer younger.  While the calendar would probably put me into domiguy's category of  "dried up, less palatable, older twat" i have yet to see myself as such and neither have the men i have met.  My current Dom is 10 years younger than i. 

What really matters is common goals. Common life goals and common relationship goals.  When people work toward the same goals, age doesn't matter.

The first person who showed me i was a submissive was 6 years younger. He had this way with him, and the chemistry between us was just so strong. I don't know why, but one day i just said i was his to own. He had never told me about his BDSM side so it surpriced him, and he then had me read some stuff to see for myself who i was.

Would i do that again? I never like saying never, but more then likely not. They would really have to know what they were made of and comfortable in their own skin. I once wrote about a young buck i observed and an older one. The young one stood like he was in controle of his surroundings in a puffed chest kind of way, but his eyes showed he was still uncertain. The older one just stood there. He was calm, and knew he was in controle of his environment.

Depending on the age difference yes and no.
I don't play with people under 23 at the moment.
After October that will move to 24.
Basically I don't play with people my kids age as I think it's just icky to be old enough to be there mom.
Other than that I think I could submit on a casual dating basis to some young men and not others.
It depends more on the maturity for me than the number (LOL above 23).
As far as how young would I go to find a mate?
Probably not more than 12 years younger.

Well, the first submissive I was with was seven years older than me. In fact, I haven't been with a girl younger than me... I wonder what it's like.

I bring it up because of the OP's comment of younger girls "not knowing what they want", which I find interesting. I always thought the Dom was supposed to be a guide, a leader, and not expect to have a pre-cooked package. Age will not change that.

A dom can be all that, but people's psychological backgrounds, abilities, needs, learning styles may differ greatly. A dom can guide, lead, etc. far more quickly and more easily when a sub knows enough about him or herself to help [SOPs/owner's manuals can be useful  for many systems]. Of course, age may have little (or nothing) to do with a sub's having learned to understand and accept him or herself and being able to articulate such information in a useful manner.

Age is just a number.  My Lord is four years younger than I am and it has no bearing on his ability to be dominant.  It's the man not the number that is important to me.
