I can't tell you how I feel
My heart is like a wheel.
Let me roll it
Let me roll it to you

Old Man Rhythm is-a in my shoes
It's no use sittin' there just singing the blues
So be my guest, you got nothin' to lose
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

Gotta get a-movin baby, I ain't lyin'
My heart is beatin' rhythm and it's right on time
So be my guest, you got nothin' to lose
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

I feel like jumpin', baby won't you join me please
I don't like beggin', now I'm on bended knees

I gotta get to rockin', get my head off the rack
I gotta boogie-woogie like a knife's in my back
So be my guest, you got nothin' to lose
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

Old Man Rhythm is-a in my shoes
It's no use sittin' there just singing the blues
So be my guest, you got nothin' to lose
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

I said, oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Oooh-ee, oooh-ee baby
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise

"Fire" by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown.  I had not heard that song in ages and ages, then caught it at the tail end of a TV show as I was flipping channels last night (though it was not done by the original artist.)  Then, I was flipping through radio stations on XM radio this morning, and I heard it again (by the orignal artist).

Indiana Wants Me - R. Dean Taylor

This was one of the first 45's I even had.

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
I wish I had you, to talk to

If a man ever needed to dying he did
No one had the right to say what he said about you
And it's so cold and lonely here without you
Out there the law is coming
I've been so tired of running

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
I wish I had you to talk to

It hurts to see the man that I've become
To know I'll never see the morning sunshine on the land
I'll never see your smiling face or touch your hand
If just once more I could see
You, our home and our little baby

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
I wish I had you to talk to

I hope this letter finds it's way to you
Forgive me love for the shame I've put you through and all the tears
Hang on love to the memories of those happy years
Red lights are flashing around me
Good Lord it looks like they found me

Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there
(This is the police. You are surrounded. Give yourseft up)
Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there

I heard one on a cruise recently, one I hadn't heard since high school, but what a gorgeous song.....You're My World by Helen Reddy.

You're my world, you're every breath I take
You're my world, you're every move I make
Other eyes see the stars up in the sky
But for me they shine within your eyes

As the trees reach for the sun above
So my arms reach out to you for love
With your hand resting in mine
I feel a power so divine

You're my world, you are my night and day
You're my world, you're every prayer I pray
If our love ceases to be
Then it's the end of my world for me

I heard one by Marvin Gaye tonight while grocery shopping called "I'll Be Doggone."  It was a childhood favorite that I hadn't heard in ages.  I used to LOVE Marvin.

Another one I heard recently that I hadn't heard in ages is "Friday on My Mind" by the Easy Beats.

I am really dating myself....a country song by Billy Jo Royal

Down in the boondocks
Down in the boondocks
People put me down 'cause
That's the side of town I was born in
I love her she loves me but I don't fit in her society
Lord have mercy on the boy from down in the boondocks

My cousin had this 45 record and I would beg her to play it over and over...I think she was glad to get rid of me - lol.

I heard that one while pumping gas the other day for the first time in a long, long time.  It was playing at the gas station.

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Wish You Were Here is my favorite tune.  I play it just about every gig I have, and I might post an MP3 of my playing it if anyone cares to hear.

Knockin on Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan style), Tuesday's Gone, Plush, Yellow Ledbetter, and Have You Ever Seen the Rain are also favorites.

I have a ton of other favs, though; just hard to list them all.

I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.

Stephan I was in a bar,big surprise, and on the juke box someone did a rousing rendition of "Simple Man."
Might consider adding to your arsenal.

Well, morning comes and you're still with her
And the bus and the tourists are gone
And you've thrown away the choice and lost your ticket
So you have to stay on

But the drum-beat strains of the night remain
In the rhythm of the new-born day
You know sometime you're bound to leave her
But for now you're going to stay
In the year of the cat.

great song Al Stewart.
