I am claustrophobic...I don't like elevators that aren't made of glass, I don't like sitting in a seatbelt when the car is not moving, I cannot handle turnstiles, and having the sheets cover my head. I can't IMAGINE how anyone could go into caves, or go deep sea diving underneath all that water. The mask alone would give me a heart attack.  I would risk my own safety to get away from the illusionary threat that confined spaces make me feel, yet I find the grandest comfort in being bound. Even as a little girl,  I would twist my sheets into wrist restraints to settle myself into sleep, and as an adult, I love blindfolds, and gags and feeling myself pinned underneath Master. I love his hands around my throat, I like feeling totally and completely overtaken and overwhelmed by the very things that would make me feel like screaming in terror any other time. I am not sure how this happens or why. It seems that the claustrophobia would make me unable to enjoy those things, or the bondage would undo the feeling of claustrophobia. Yet, they both exist in me simulateneously and all I can do is wonder how.

Does anyone else feel the same? ( probably so, but maybe you can explain it better)
Can anyone offer any other contradictory elements about themselves?

Being in a controlled situation you trust is very different than a random uncontrolled life situation.

Remember that most slaves are control freaks.  It is within that clear explicit dynamic of giving up authority that they feel relaxed and centered.

I would like to say I love small dark tight places so I'm not someone who feels how you feel.

I think the tying the sheets around your wrists when you were young did not trigger your phobia as your face was not restrained or in a tight place.
Maybe just your face is what you're claustrophobic about.
What I think based on your post is that your trust you have for your Master aleviates that feeling of being confined in you.
Knowing he's going to keep you safe lets you relax enough the phobia takes a back seat to him.

Don't mention "Warm wet blankets and a breathing tube" to your master then, since all that heavyweight pushing down and burying you, would probably freak you out :D]

Mention Vacuum beds instead

Hello. =)

Yanno, it's weird. Caverns and being underwater don't bother me at all, but being completely restricted- like being wrapped up in bondage tape- just totally freaks me out. And not in a good way, either. Encasememt, mummification, all that.... yuck.

Stella, I never thought I would have a problem, until that happened to me - - cellophane was the culprit.  I handled it for about 10...maybe 15 minutes before I went into an anxiety attack.   The things we learn about ourselves...lol.

Being "put away" in a tight and confined space was difficult but I managed wtih the help of breathing exercises and focus.  But if he ever pulls out the cellophane again I think I will just faint on the spot - save myself the trouble, LOL.
