I understand that is is a hard concept for some people to understand that Global Warming does not mean that the entire world will go up in flames in one fail swoop, and that it will cause spikes of intense and unseasonable cold as well, along its course.  However, all the information they need to understand this very elementary information is readily available.. I for one am pretty damn sick of providing seven thousand links to Peer Reviewed reasearches  (perhaps that is half the problem, I doubt they know what peer review means in the world of science, or if they care if some of the half baked, anomolous tidbits they produce are any indication).  If they really wanted to get the whole of the picture and deal in fact, they would do the research themselves instead of just sitting back and making silly arguments about that which they do not understand.

Puella: when articles written by climatologists who support the theory that Global Warming is being caused by CO2, which has its origin in human activity, then I would be willing to bet a pound to a pinch of shite that such reviews are carried out by those who are  sympathetic to, and  already agree with, the conclusions being reviewed.

I do know that I have read that those who oppose Natural Selection as currently taught and I suppose  those who do not unreservedly  accept  the current fashionable attititudes to the causes of Global warming complain that they cant even get their articles considered for publication in respectable journals.

Can you point to a link showing a peer review of an article on the Human cause of GW that has dissenting opinions ?

You obviously do not understand the process of peer review (which debunked the theory proposed by the hunter's lobbying group, that you supplied in the other thread).

There is no room for partisanship in peer review.  There is no room for personal interests in peer review... that is the basis of scientific reveiw and theory.

I think it more accurate to say, "the Peer Review process effectively filters out bias, either partisan or personal".

Well thats the theory anyway. We all know scientists are not too worried where their next grant is coming from so are likely to remain firm under pressure. Dont we ?
I have seen a scientist say that to question the man made basis of GW is then to be treated like a Holocaust Denier .

Again, I maintain that you simply do not understand what scientific peer review is.  What you are talking about is peer review for grants (academic peer review).

Anything can get published, not any old thing is considered legitimate.  That is where peer review comes in. 

I think you are just looking at the word peer and are thinking I am talking about peer pressure.  Nothing could be further from what I am talking about.  Scientific peer review is what ensures that that is not taking place.

First Puella I do lnow what a scientific peer review is, in fact a peer review of any kind.
Co expert checks on data, sources, methods and so on.

I ask you again, dissent exists on GW, can you link to a pro <man made GW> document that contains major dissenting opinions.?
If you can then my argument is wrong, if you cant then.........

I have met all this be orthodox or else position over Darwinism.

To answer your question.

No.

It is not done for that reason.  It is done so scientists can come up with a consensus view about reality by studying it, and allows other scientists to express opposing viewpoints and evidence.

Dissent exists on the theory of evolution also.  That does not make those who propose those dissents correct or considered legitimate within the scientific realm.  You of course realize that the vast majority of all reports saying that there is  'no such thing as global warming' are funded by lobbying groups, mainly sponsored by oil companies, correct?
