I have a friend from Texas who says there is a restaurant there that serves "dirty steaks" meaning they lay the meat directly on the all natural wood chips instead of on the metal grill. When its done they pop off as much of the chips as they can and what you get is what you get. She says its the best steak she ever had...*shrugs..Ive never BBQed or grilled...I know..its sad huh?..

Sheesh dont take ur burgers and your steaks too seriously.

Grilling is not fire play !!

Bite your tongue!  And for your store of knowledge, Misst, 'grilling' involves cooking the food quickly over a high heat, while BBQ is about cooking slo-owly with a low heat and allowing the meat to really absorb the smoke flavor.

And as passionate as some of us are about it, you could find the debates on such a topic putting politics and sub vs slave to shame.

Hey Rich   she is from Europe.   When I was there, they complained that we made our food to greasy when it was BBQd.    Same when grilling.   When I was in Berlin, we had a German/American Volksfest.   We put a cow a day on the spit and the only ones that would eat it were the Americans.   We couldn't get ribs on the local market so my Captain would go down to the slaughter house and get ribs and we had to finish cleaning them because they considered it scrap.

One who knows how to grill, then there is no grease. It's all in the grill and knowing how to use it.

Hmmmm.... Just the thought of grilling will get my eyes glazed over, but it is because he can think of other uses for the grill brush.  It works wonders for exfoliating the skin.  *g*

It's not supposed to be health food for crying out loud!

Beef ribs will be greasy if you don't boil them first.  I've had a lot of greasy pork over the years too.  I'll be experimenting with some pork roasts now that I have the sidebox.  There has to be a way to get that marvelous flavor without being able to feel your arteries harden.
