I will be honest, if you will be honest. People like you are just as responsible for leaders like President Bush, as the people that voted for them.

Funny, I was like you before president bush got into office... very ironic indeed. I was a moderate, a Clinton supporter, and I supported Al Gore, and I used to get mad at Nader supporters...

I was ignorant of much that I informed myself of, ignorance was bliss, believing in this political system was bliss, thinking that we actually lived by the constitution helped me sleep at night... now I know better, since the Iraq Resolution I have learned a great deal

It is my karma, I have said this to Greens shortly after selection 2000, it is very easy to divide and conquer when people do not have all the information, and I did not have all the information then... but I am getting back what I put out about 4 years ago... full circle.

New Zealand is nice.  No aspirations of global domination.  Pleasant people who live there.

I wanted to be sure you saw this Caitlyn, instead of editing and risking that you miss it.. it is also ironic that you are stooping to the same behavior you decry in Sinergy and me, namely "pushing" us to the other side by entrenching us with attacks"... see how it works? And I was nothing but civil to you.

dcnovice,

Some believe that by voting for third parties rather than rallying behind a party that can win, they "allow" the bad side to win.

A vote for Perot "got" Clinton elected and a vote "for" Nader got Bush elected.  There is a fair bit of truth to that, I certainly believe it.

To me, I work hard to support candidates I believe in with both time and money.  I vote for alternative candidates when the "lesser" of two evils will win or when I don't think it matters much.

However, when the vote counts, I feel there is only one choice and that is to unite behind the most credible "good" candidate in an attempt to beat the bad one.  I worked for Wesley Clark, a brilliant and experienced leader, one who could quite possibly have led us out of Iraq in some sort of constructive way and not left a genocide in waiting.  However, when he stepped down I supported Kerry who I really didn't think much of but at least he had been in combat and can form complete sentences.

If you want better candidates, donate a bit of money EARLY it has a very powerful influence.  Donate time EARLY, it helps greatly.  Sitting and bitching doesn't do much.

New Zealand is rather tempting, if it weren't so far from my family and friends.

BTW, who said the U.S. was ruined?

The OP - The destruction of America
I have quite a few Kiwi friends who won't return to En Zed because there is little economic future and it's a rather closed society as far as they're concerned

"Early money is like yeast," as they say at EMILY's list.

Whom are you working for this time? I'm still undecided.

I've only been there twice, so I'm not an expert on the place. But I liked what I saw.

I remained registered as a democrat to support Dennis Kucinich, and I gave him money early. I did so not because he had a chance, but because I felt that he had real integrity and honor through out his career and that he supported the same positions that I did, even though he is prolife. At least he was consistently prolife... against the death penalty and against the war in Iraq. He was the only one with a voting record that voted against both the Patriot Act and the Iraq Resolution.

My criteria for the next election is that the person I vote for will not have voted in favor of the Iraq Resolution. I cannot support anyone who did. If they did then I will vote for a third party candidate.

I owe no party my vote, they owe us representation. One of the biggest problems with American politics is this idea that the two main parties are owed a free pass on representing us, they are not owed that, and we can show them this by supporting a third party and making them represent us to get our votes... they truly feel they have a free ride into office because of their partisanship... the arrogance of this when they are supposed to be public servants is hubris at its finest.

Wont be a closed society once Al Qaeda swims the Atlantic and invades Coney Island.

They will have to dodge the militarily powerful Chinese, swimming over to take the United States down.

According to Team America, World Police, it is not the Chinese, it is the North Koreans.

I'm not so sure.

Have you noticed in the last Olympics, that China is starting to build pretty good swim and dive team? There might be something to that. We should get a resolution passed in the U.N. to prevent this threat to our shore. We may even have to build a few more aircraft carriers.
