That is part of the frustration with the whole process. She is very limited in what she can say in an open hearing. I believe it was Sanity who was trying to make the case that nothing noteworthy came of the tesimony heard yesterday (at the dog and pony show, I believe is how he put it). I listed a couple of the things which I thought were very note worthy and forgot another that stuck out: "The Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), today sent a letter to White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten requiring an explanation of a stunning admission by a White House official that no internal investigation was launched following the leak of classified information. The admission was made during a hearing on the outing of former CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson." "The testimony of Mr. Knodell appears to describe White House decisions that were inconsistent with the directives of Executive Order 12958, which you signed in March 2003," wrote Waxman. "Under this executive order, the White House is required to 'take appropriate and prompt corrective action' whenever there is a release of classified information. UNDER OATH he said simply that they didn't conduct an internal investigation, because of the criminal investigation going on. I wonder what information YOU are privy to, which the Director of the Office of Security at the White House isn't aware of?

She was covert, Sanity, there is no way around it, and why it galls you to acknowledge that is beyond me. The head of the CIA, the head of the Senate Special Intelligence Committee (whilst still under the control of the Republican majority) and the Federal Prosecutor (as well as the woman the Republican Congress appointed to debunk her covert status) have all pronounced her as such. Why is that so hard for you to either understand or accept? What about that fact causes you such consternation as to keep refusing to accept the truth.

She was a desk-jockey, just deal with it. If she were so "covert" why did her husband write such a high-profile OP-ED piece and risk blowing her "cover". And once he DID blow her "cover" why do they blame anyone other than themselves. She was only covert in a technical sense... and it didn't really matter, or Joe Wilson wouldn't have "blown her cover" like that. Unless they're just stupid, and I suppose that a case can be made for that.

The article that first outed Valerie Wilson was written by Robert Novak. Valerie Wilson and countless other covert agents at the CIA, do in fact do a portion of their work at desks, yes. She also traveled to Europe, the Middle East and Africa building the covert operation she was such an instrumental part of. Where she sat do do some of her work, does not mitigate the fact that by all standards of the law, and by the classification placed upon her by the CIA itself, and attested to by the head of the CIA, she was covert.

And NOT by her or her husband. By people like Libby, who is going to prison for the attempts to back peddle and cover it up. Libby is going to jail for his lying to try to throw the investigation off course. And attempting to somehow blame the Wilsons for the actions of the White Hosue and their cronies, to use the polite term, is dissembling. To be more blunt but accurate, its total bullshit.

If she was covert, why did her kids go around telling their friends she was in the CIA ? By definition the moment you drive through the front gates of Langley you are NOT covert. She and her husband didn't like the path the administration was taking in Iraq and they took it into their own hands to interfere with it. To this day the english intelligence services still insist that saddam's agents went down there looking for yellowcake. The senate intelligence commitee investigated his claims and proved him a liar long ago. This latest senate performance is a whitewash demanded by the far socialist left. Plame and her husband should of been fired on the spot and should probably be facing charges. Not Libby for saying "I don't remember" 6 times. Also, one little logical argument for you. Armitage admitted that he was the one that leaked her. Why wasn't he charged if she was covert ? hmmmm ? Gotta love having a juror that was the next door neighbor to one of the major journalist's involved. The liberals have totally corrupted the judicial branch of th e government, they are effectively above the law and can use the system to persecute governement officials for merely having policies they disagree with.

That's right, the one that was proved to be a lie on Joe Wilson's part. THAT'S what started it. HE'S the reason his wife was "outed". People started asking, who is this Joe Wilson guy, and enough people knew all about Valerie Plame that her occupation came right out. It's been proven that neither the President nor the Vice-President had anything to do with "outing" her, and so why you persist in this absolute nothingness is beyond me.
