Right. I am saying when it has become a viable threat to someone, there will be a court case about it that eventually that reaches the U.S. Supreme Court. This may take a few years, but I am betting my bottom dollar it will happen. Until then, I am not losing sleep over it (but I don't have anything the FBI is probably interested in knowing re: My life, either). And the FBI is currently under-funded, compared to how much of the Federal budget they used to get (due to the war in Iraq). In principle, I agree, it's annoying and maybe could be construed as slightly a cause for concern. In practical terms, I am not worried for myself due to this development, though. - Susan

If the fbi can do it anyone can! and how do you intend to prove it wa s what the fbi did that caused you some kind of harm? In the meantime they recorded every zit you ever popped or hangnail you clipped. They know nore about you than you do. How to control you! If you feel this is what america should be then so be it but i think everyone is quite aware that i am for standing up and getting our constitutional rights back rather than the police state you are recommending even for 1 second! Doing what you are doing is advocating the gov to violate the law, lets see if they return the favor to you. Think about it!

You're going to make me want to off myself, with all of this happy talk.[;)][:)] I am not trying to discount what you are saying, and I understand it, but if there really is no way out, I say go eat some popcorn, and cruise your cable w/the remote and find a good movie, or have a good bdsm scene w/someone - have some fun, while the ship is going down, down, down... Either that, or cruise the net for a citizens privacy watch group, and climb aboard. There are many listed on the internet, as there are still some elements of democracy in this country. If you Google for them - and they are trying to work toward being heard clearly, and more often, by our government. - Susan

Okay, I am not makng fun of your concern. But those citizens privacy groups are out there, and they have loads of members, too. Maybe I'll join one. Check the internet; Google citizens privacy watch groups, or privacy watch groups, or citizens concerned about government privacy invasion, and all of the variations with which you could word your concern, and I am sure you could come up with hundreds of watch groups who are actively attempting to allay this concern. You make it sound like folks are all alseep at the wheel, and that isn't the case, although I think it's considerate you brought it to peoples' attention, I do. - Susan

Yes. Well it looks like Bush was trying to pack the U.S. federal courts and Attorney General Albert Gonzales was just outed on that over the past few days - I thought that was kinda scary, but am even gladder he was caught red-handed trying to do it ('cuz now it just ain't gonna happen in this administration). Bush and Gonzales (and Karl Rove) have managed to lower the morale of U.S. court justices nation-wide, with that plot. Fortunately, Gonzale's staff (and Bush) are apparently too stupid or incompetent to carry something like that all the way through.Their silly optimism that their under-handed tactics will work seems to know few bounds. Frankly, I am gonna be happy to see Bush gone, and the 2008 election cannot come soon enough for me. It might well be the government's subterfuge plot to kill all of us regular folk off in that manner, (bad driving while worrying abut what is being monitored re: Our cell phones), he. Although personally, I never drive and cell at the same time. From the looks of their competence level as far as managing some things, it looks to me like they some of their representatives may well be the ones to go and get themselves killed off first. Please nobody bring up how unfair it is all of the soldiers are dying in the Iraq war (I think that's sad too), but the topic is cell phones and citizen privacy. - Susan

I don't think you're nuts, but you seem a little bent on being unhappy about something you also think there isn't anything you can do to positively affect. To that I say, in sincerity and concern for you: What is the point? Bush and a lot of his administration, IMO are really lousy. I used to just think he was incompetent, but lately I am thinking it goes a little deeper than that. What can one really say? 2008 election, please come quickly, and join a citizens privacy watch group. Because, I agree, once he's out of office, any ramifications re: This sort of thing could still well remain. - Susan

Educating people! i sent some of my info to one of the local universities and the civics professor was so incensed he cancelled the previoulsy scheduled class and talked about our constitutional rights and duties to up hold it. talk about it. make it a daily topics. tell friends get people thinking about it. I have a father who is paranoid about this stuff, and my sis is an attorney so she is plenty paranoid about it, too. A slight paranoia about this stuff can never really hurt anyone, and might actally end up preventing some strange occurrence from happening with the mis-use of their "data". IMO (slight, that is, IMO). I will spread the word to my nieces and nephew. - Susan

Your sister is right to be extremely paranoid frankly. That attitude will be the death of us. If we can get a full investigation of 911 for instance that would tear this system of corruption apart with what that will uncover, however after 7years that is a lot of time to do a pretty good cleanup job including witnesses worth thinking about... imo
